Knick in composite bed.

Greetings!

I had a pallet full of stones “forked” into the bed of my truck (24 Platinum). There is a Knick or gouge in the surface about the size of a quarter in it now. Has anyone used a “bed liner spray” or any sort fo patch on the bed? Just wondering

I was seriously hoping those beds would get better. I had a taco with a composite bed and I actually managed to punch a hole right through that garbage.

I'd probably look for some sort of epoxy.

Yes that is the spray liner over the composite.

 

I bet Rhino or some of the other spray in bedliner companies could patch it to were you would not see it

 

after you fix it might consider a bed mat.

At least it's just the bed liner, I thought you broke through the composite. Should be a pretty easy repair.

 

I'll try the epoxy, then look for a liner to cover the liner that covers the composite.. I think metal would have been nicer!

Check out this product. It's a structural marine epoxy. It's waterproof and stays slightly flexible to handle expansion, contraction, shock and vibration.

I've used it on numerous repairs to my boats, vehicles, and other projects. It's the strongest epoxy I've found and it sticks to virtually everything.

It dries a yellowish color, however, so you'll have to spray it black after it dries.

 

I would talk to your dealer before messing with it. Looks like its not sticking to the bed at all

 

Probably should run a bed mat if thats the factory bedliner which so many have had problems with.

 

This above or fiberglass resin and a bit of matting.

 

Just get a small can of brush-on bed liner and use a small syringe to fill the space until it levels. Then texture is before it completely dries.
