Also just passed the 55k mile mark yesterday on the way home from Florida, so this morning gave the truck some love. My local Walmart has been slacking on 5w30 Penzoil Platinum so decided to try a new flavor.

    -Engine oil and filter change
    -Tire rotation and PSI check
    -Cleaned MAF
    -Cleaned TB and replaced gasket

I didn’t expect it to be filthy but dirtier than I would’ve guessed for only 55k

Also swapped out the gasket/screen for an OE Toyota gasket without the screen. Not sure it really makes a performance difference but removing any intake restrictions has to be better.

Cleaned everything up and reassembled, idled like a sewing machine.

I was just browsing cooler options and came across this Aussie/Cruiser Brothers one as well. I know the Genuine Cooling Systems kits are super popular, but this kit is considerably cheaper. I know you mentioned you rounded out the install with Toyota OEM parts. What all was lacking from the kit? Curious how much extra the other parts totaled/total cost overall to go this route vs Genuine Cooling Systems kit or piecing together all Toyota stuff.

That kit is strictly a cooler, mounting bracket & hardware, a few feet of hose & clamps. You will still need the OEM Toyota transmission thermostat, hoses, and hardline.

Sweet good to know. I found another thread where someone compiled the other DIY parts, thanks!

Topping up my tires yesterday since they were getting a little low, realized I’m slacking on keeping this updated. Relocated my compressor to under the driver seat.

Picked up the Desert Does It mount from @RainMan_PNW a several months ago and re-did my set up.
    IMG_6313.jpg

Added some Amazon fittings and a Viair leader hose plus the existing ARB fittings. Also thinned down the harness to just the necessary wiring for running the compressor.

Little updates to keep the truck feeling new and protected. Husky X-act Contour rear mat.
    IMG_6373.jpg
Ran the shop vac over everything after removing the old mat.

Coverage isn’t perfect but much improved and hopefully saves the carpet for wear and tear.

My brakes started an intermittent squeal the last couple days, must be getting closer to replacement time than I anticipated at the last oil change. Also turned over 59k miles yesterday so 60k mile service coming soon.

Splurged on a set of JBA arms to round out my suspension upgrades.
    IMG_6400.jpg

Install wasn’t to bad besides loosing and torquing the pivot bolt with hand tools. Going for an alignment tomorrow or the next day.
    IMG_6401.jpg

Also swapped out the pads and rotors while I had the wheels off. Napa premium coated rotors and Akebono pads. Plan to flush the fluid soon-ish.

Got the truck aligned since the control arms and drives much better. Hopefully less outer edge wear with the improved camber numbers.

Crossed off a 60k mile engine oil/filter, tire rotation, cleaned air filter. Also installed a J&L oil separator while the oil drained. See if it catches anything, previous vehicles saw some in over the years.

Saw the front Huskyliner mats on sale last week and ordered a set. Cleaned up the carpet and threw those in as well.

Took the wife to breakfast and made a few stops for truck and garden projects.
