    Hi All.

Tonite was 29 degrees. Roughly 70% humidity. Drove approx 15 miles. Am still getting white smoke/steam from exhaust. Not massive amount, but same amount as say a cold start. During summer, it goes away, but when I go off road, it causes a little dirt to cake around the body where exhaust is. Pressure test (only) about 4 months ago showed no leaks. Oil looks Ok. Not milky. Inside oil cap looks Ok, brownish. Coolant res seems good. Not losing much. Maybe a tiny tiny bit every 4-6 months, as in a couple of teaspoons. Been like this since bought almost exactly 2 years ago. Should I run more tests? I'm paranoid after that CCN HG video(s.) Thanks All...

*Edit: I also did not smell any sweet coolant from the tailpipe emmissions. Not a shred. Got a headache sniffing that stuff lol. And temps were 39 degrees not 29 deg, sorry.

From what you described, sounds pretty normal. I wouldn't worry about it.

I wouldn't worry but if you really are you can test the coolant. There's a kit that checks to see if there's exhaust in the antifreeze. I have one of the kits but never needed to use it. It has a blue die that turns color if there's a leak. I did watch a TV show where they got a false positive and spent time trying to fix something that wasn't broken so I would test it multiple times before calling it a leak.

Well. I drove it for 13 miles to work. Shut if off for 45 minutes to cool it down. Restarted it with radiator cap off. Watched the coolant whole time in the radiator with cap off using my trusty Dewalt spotlight for 4-5 minutes with motor running. NO bubbles in exhaust. Temp is 36 degrees out. Exhaust still smells same. No coolant smell that I can detect. I don't have that block head gasket blue liquid leak tester yet. So far so good. But I may take to local mechanic to run battery if tests just for peace of mind. My buddy w the 2007 5.7 changed his coolant at 77k when bought. Then at 200k, then at 400k miles. Truck died due to engine computer problem at 500k miles. He had NO head gasket issues.

Sorry guys. Just paranoid. I like staying on top of things and use this truck to take wife and I to nice destinations off road. Thank you All...

    Hi Folks.

    Just a follow up...

Drove 2 days back to back. Off road some rough. 1st day except for getting gas after 45 minutes. Ran truck without shutting off approx 8 hrs continuous. Mostly off road as well. 2nd day, ran approx 7 hours straight except a gas stop. And off road, some rough as well. My coolant levels were checked after approx 15 hours after shut off and cold. Ambient temps 38 degrees. Result: ZERO coolant loss. I went back to visit the mechanic that pressure tested it back around Oct-Nov. 2024. He said he pressure tested it for "half an hour" with no issues..

    ALL GOOD.

    Thanks All...

I get what looks like soot built up on the paint behind the pipe, but I've never actually seen it huffing, I just assume it's adjusting fuel ratio for temps and ignore it.
