I was under the hood of 2022 tundra 1794 and it looks like something was installed direct to battery. IMG_6806.jpg

I'm going to guess you bought it used if the truck is yours.
That is something aftermarket and not OEM.

Follow the leads and find out what it is.
Maybe pull the fuse out of the inline holder and see what doesn't work..

I'm guessing its for a aftermarket stereo amplifier.

That’d be an awfully small power wire for an amp. I’d be looking for a light or aftermarket power outlet.

It appears very similar to this Crutchfield kit.

Probably same gauge but you can see it's a 2 conductor wire
    upload_2025-2-28_14-48-46.png

And under the heat shrink looks like one of those solder melt butt splices, likely an off-the-shelf inline fuse holder with the wiring added to extend it to wherever it leads, but regardless it could totally be for an amp. Amp is probably most likely if it runs into the cab and there aren't any clearly aftermarket light bars/pods/outlets etc. Could be for something like heated seats too. I'm invested now, OP needs to trace it and tell us what it goes to lol

Truck was ordered through Toyota. I didn’t have any after market accessories installed. I will have to see if I can trace wiring to find out what it’s for

I thought the same thing. Pretty crappy install if the dealer did it.

That was my first thought, but don’t dealers usually install those by the obd port/just tap into wiring in the cab?

I'm watching this thread because I must know what it is...

@Papd313 does the truck have AMP Powersteps?
The box would be tucked away under the hood somewhere.
Shouldn't have to follow the wires too far.

Whatever it is, the odd thing to me is that the ground wire goes to the battery.
You can ground something just about anywhere...

So, you ordered this truck new, in 22, and never had anything installed & just now wondering what those wires are??? Something doesn't add up.
