After reading countless debates about oil change intervals decided to get it tested. Feel free to post your results to help others make more informed decision.

Test results were done at 6,113 miles use on Toyota fully synthetic oil and filter at dealership. Said it was fine, reccomened 8,000 mile interval next time.

Looks great! I may switch to 5w 30. Especially towing. In the past I did my own oil changes but only driving 8k miles a year and the dealership records a walk through video inspection and checks everything, upload to the carfax report, and free shuttle. Although I may keep this truck a long time and after the first oil change should be a breeze. The dealership claims the synthetic is good for 10k miles. Not sure if I'll get another at 8k miles.

Boring. I’ll try again at 100k.

I have not. This is the only oil analysis I’ve had done.

I think, what people will find, is that a 5k OCI is excessive for the vast majority of owners.

Excessive is exactly what I'm going for.

Could be, but many people don't realize they fall under "severe" use. Got to read up, and find out if you are. Sometimes that changes things.

Here's mine from my last change.

Pennzoil 5w-30 High Mileage, 3,000 miles of towing on this sample. Towing was a range of 2500lbs to 6000lbs.

The rear leafs are hating me, the engine, not so much.

Lol... you are literally wasting your hard earned money and not getting any benifit. If that's what you are into, then more power to you

My guess is that the vast majority of people are nowhere close to the "severe use" category and that title is 100% useless. The gentleman's oil analysis results posted above prove that people are needlessly changing their oil.

274,700 miles on the truck, 6,400 miles on the oil (Pennzoil 5W-30).

Normally I do 10K intervals. I'll post another report soon with 10K on the oil.
