Hello Everyone! (moving this thread, the LT forum seems to be not very active)

Just joined the group and there is a lot of great information here. I was searching and I dont think I have seen anyone that has this kit yet on their 22+ Tundra.

I ordered mine back in August and its finally starting to arrive. Im still waiting on the main portion of the kit and the King shocks I had them custom anodized so it took a little longer. But the Fiberglass is here and the trailing arms etc.

I included a parts of everything that was ordered below if you are curious. If you have any questions about the ordering process and my experience please PM me I dont mind sharing the details!

I am currently trying to decide on a tire to run. This truck is a toy and will mostly be used to hit some of the power line trails around me and I will be taking it out to CA for a couple weeks next year. I lived in CA for a while but never had the funds to do a LT build. This is not a DD truck.

Here is the rim I am going to use:
    Method Race Wheels 105 Beadlock, 17x9 with 6 on 5.5 Bolt Pattern - Black - MR10579060538B

I am trying to determine a good tire to run for this setup. Anyone have any thoughts? Also if there is anyone with this kit already please let me know!

    Thanks all.

Firstly congrats on the build. There’s a few other things to note on LT kits. You’ll need to find a solution for the intake holes. Those will be exposed. Tire wise I run the Mickey Thompson Baja boss. You’ll want to decide if you want a MT or AT. The BFG Ko2 is also a great tire.

Thank you @reywcms I have run Ko2s on other trucks I will also take a look at the MT Baja Boss. I think im going to stick with an AT for this build. I was not tracking the exposed intake holes. I will do some research and see what my options are and maybe ask JT over at BajaKits what he recommends.

Really dig your build, part of me wishing I didnt decide to do this on a 3rd Gen not a lot out there in terms of parts yet.

Welp finally back together…..but now I need to do some trimming and figure out a solution for the wheel well liners. Going to adjust the front suspension slightly. Also need to make a pre-filter cover for the intake inlet. This has been a huge pain in the ass… Ill post more photos of everything in the next couple of days. Might need to ask some questions to the smart people on these forums. The youtubers make it look so simple haha

Also you’ll want to watch out for the lower shock mount. LT kit with stock length shocks on those kits have been breaking

So new problem. I need to get an alignment which I’m well aware of to fix my camber issues. The problem is my truck keeps lifting the front end up on acceleration and lowering on when stopping. I don’t understand why I’m having such a drastic swing in the front end. Normally when it’s just sitting it sits great Camber is perfect but when I accelerate the front end lifts up over 4 1/2 inches and will stay there until I hit the brakes.

I have the kings set as soft as possible..

I'd set your clickers in the middle and go from there. I had a similar issue on my last truck with a similar setup to yours. I think the Kings have 20 clicks total, set them to 10 and see if has any impact.

Also for your wheel well liners, you can buy sheets of .125" ABS. You can use a heat gun to form the liners. I did this on my last truck and had no issues for the six years I owned it.

I'd say maybe more low speed compression. This is an awesome build!

great idea on the ABS I am ordering some sheets now!

So I have them set all the way down to the softest they will go now. I am going to do some driving around and see if they loosen up. I am not sure if they just need time to break in but when the front end of that truck lifts up and doesn't go back down while driving the camber is so bad its chewing up the outside edge of my tires.

I really appreciate your feedback, I am starting to feel like I will never get this truck on the road. The amount of trimming I have had to do to these Fiberwerx fenders is a little crazy. Buying and installing them is my biggest regret so far.

Have you talked to JT or someone at BK? My brother had their kit on his 2015 Silverado and didn't have this issue. We set it up pretty tight though.

People need to realize that a LT suspension will never be comfortable when daily driving like an oem or basic lifted truck is. These things are not built for comfort, although you could spend a lot of time on shock tuning to get it as close as possible...but most people buying these things wont.

We had to make custom fender liners, fender braces/supports and a whole bunch of cutting and trimming and putting on and taking off to get it all to work like we wanted. The BK stuff never failed but it took a lot of time and effort to get it where he wanted it. Then other stuff started breaking and needing beefing up...like LCA bolt holes and strut buckets.

lol welcome to long travel.. things don’t just bolt on and go these things need tweaking. The last 10% takes 90% of the time. Perfectly normal
