So my 2023 rav4 prime the 12.3 cluster is fried....... originally was told can't leave with the vehicle and should be 10 days to receive part and install. Part in specific is 838004ae80kp not only was I given a vehicle of not the same level but a full combustion engine i chose the prime for my commute of a daily 80km total trip I usto put $80 a month now it's a week and they have me still paying the lease. So I'm paying a lease...the price of gas from $80 a month to $320-350 a month
And can't take possession of the vehicle anywhere from 3-4 months with no guarantee...toyota canads isent much help since all they said was just wait can anybody tell me if they had anything similar

What would you recommend i negotiate... im open to anything i need ideas i asked for another vehicle they said they would reach out to the dealer all the dealer said was we have a shortage of cars we only have what they gave me iv tried asking for stop payment they don't want to they won't reimburse gas or compensate they did say I could rent a vehicle and they possibly will cover but I cant afford that risk with all the surprises

3-4 months without my virtually new car and I assure you, Toyota would be appeasing me somehow as in buying it back!
One of life's aggravations and you will get through it but stick up for yourself!

Read up on your rights. If it were me where I live I would lemon law that thing in a heartbeat. If that wasn’t on the table I would demand a comparable loaner, not just whatever they have on the lot. I would also be negotiating a buy back / trade with no penalty towards another model like the one I had.

^^^This^^^ Especially the "Read up on your rights" part. I don't know what those rights might be, but knowledge is your best weapon.

Unfortunately, no lemon laws up here and Toyota Canada is not great from my experience. We have no consumer protection so getting something to drive while the sit on your car is a pretty good outcome. You can try to get them to reimburse your fuel costs to some degree. Just ask for them to escalate your case and speak to a manager. Whatever, you do, don’t stop making your lease payments as that will just hurt your credit score.

Squeaky wheel gets the grease. If negotiations fail, try local news station / social media, etc

So if you buy a car in Canada and it doesn’t work due to a defect and can’t be driven there is no consumer protections? Nothing that says the car manufacturer has any liability? You have to pay for something, but they don’t have to provide it?? Canada must really suck.

A lawyer might be able to fight but I would expect that to cost big bucks. Toyota Canada will be the first to say they are not Toyota Corp. Really blows for us and they know us consumers are powerless.

Maybe Judge Judy could help us :)

Now would be the time to look at the lease paperwork, assuming you’re like most people and you didn’t read and understand all the details when you signed. What is the early termination fee, to end the lease now and walk away?

I suspect that the fee will exceed a few months of fuel expenses, which somehow don’t seem to bad to me as a Tundra owner who tows a trailer often enough. Those are per trip numbers then. Ouch, right? Maybe I’m wrong, and terminating the lease will make sense.

But, at the expense of sounding like Dave Ramsey, why are you driving a leased ‘23 vehicle if you can’t afford gas? As my profile states, I drive an ‘08, and like to think I’m doing OK.

In any case, this is a clusterf$*@ no matter how you slice it. Pun intended. Sorry, I use humour to get through life, YMMV.

Walk into the showroom every day and loudly ask "Is my 2 year old Rav 4 fixed yet? It's been 3 months now"
