The difference between 15mm and 21mm is the throw of the orbit. A 15mm throw is going to work better in most situations whereas a 21mm throw is going to be best on large areas and not so much is tight/small areas.

Right, and since I have a Tundra and Venza (new gens, wife's car), 15 would likely be better due to Venza's size and surface.
It will take longer to get the Tundra done, but if I am doing it, it's just gonna take a while anyway....

for what it's worth, I have a Griots Garage G9 that has a 9mm throw with a 6in backing plate and 6.5in pads and I've used it to detail my Tundra and my wife's TrailBoss. I'm sure it takes longer vs a 15mm throw but I had this RO before either of our trucks and it's a good unit so I haven't upgraded yet. I've thought about the Milwaukee 15mm since I have batteries and it would be nice to ditch the cord but until I need to upgrade I'll probably stick with what I have.

Right, if it works then use it until it drops, or stops working for your need.

I don't have a buffer, only bottle spray and mop, so I do want to do some better detailing to maintain both vehicles longer.
Similar outlook to updating my suspension set/leveling the truck, plan is to use it until it starts to degrade and then swap out/upgrade.
I mean, why throw out a perfectly usable set just because? I get it, it looks nicer/rides nicer, but I don't think I am in that dire need for a new set just because....

Personally, I would stick with a corded buffer. I can only imagine it eating a lot of the battery quickly

I have one of those too but the reviews of the m18 buffer are all pretty good on battery use.

I will be honest, I thought about corded, but I do have a very tight garage space and also steep sloped driveway that's also curved, so I can only park it at the bottom of the driveway when I do wash the car/vacuum the car. Yea, the extension cord will get me there, but then moving around and having to get a cord wrapped around my neck isn't exactly my call for a Saturday afternoon tbh.....
But of course, everything is still pending thinking..... Just getting information first then pull the trigger later if it makes sense.

When's this in effect? Insider is still $299 on their website, not $229, and that part number matches, 3050-20

While I have nothing really against Milwaukee I do not prefer their offerings.
I have pretty extensive experience with the internals of all the big name brand power tools from my last job as we used corded and cordless drills to power some of the smaller machines we made.
    Blasphemy, right?

I’m guessing this deal isn’t hackable to return just the 5.0 battery?

I think HD doesn’t allow that any longer, at least from what I have heard. I have not tried it.
