Last week I found a used pair of platinum mirrors on Marketplace for $200 and went ahead and swapped the mirrors out. Pretty easy following the door panel disassembly video/posts on the forum. Turn signals worked right away, but need to wire up power fold and auto dim.

Next up I'm learning how to read EWDs and ordering some electrical bits so I can finish wiring them up to get the power fold and auto dim working.

I did notice the motors for power adjust on the platinum mirrors are noticeably slower compared to the factory mirrors on my TRD Pro, but not terribly so.

No crank, no start had me a lil concerned. Battery shows 12.8 volts and the ol hammer trick on the starter wasn't the ticket either. Swapped out an $11 relay and all is well.

I think the power dim gets it's signal from the power dim interior mirror. You may have to get one of those as well.

Continuing with my wife is out of town logic...

The hot tails and 3rd brake light are in. Super quality kit, and the man behind them @memario1214 was patient with all of my questions.

My fingers hurt like hell, and I might have used channel locks to secure the bulbs, but I didn't ham fist em in. Thrilled with the results

I'll work on that for ya. Had to have my daughter confirm it was illuminating while my wife is out of town. Her 14 year old attention span.. well...

And for clarity, it was just the VLED bulb to complete the LED rear

This is my first experience with VLED. Those things are super nice and way over engineered. I see why the pricing on them is the way they are. Any future LED purchases will be them as well (perhaps my wife's 4Runner)

Took the jacks off the camper, no point in carrying the jacks around since I wasn't carrying the tripods for them and I got the overhead cabinet I wasn't using out. Waiting for the anchors for the wood stove to arrive then I'll get it across a scale again. It was 7140 lb before, I'm guessing it's closer to 6700 lbs now.

So I worked on the truck today..

First, my old Pop and Lock wasn't always locking and unlocking the tailgate.
After 'fixing' it a few times I bought another one.
I had the old style and I guess the actuator was petering out.
Sounds simple, out with the old and in with the new.

Opened the tailgate, and swapped them out.
The wires were the same color but I did have to solder and heat shrink them because they changed connectors.
Tested that it did move the locking mechanism back and forth, the old one didn't.
Put it all back together, tried it out..

Nope, the lock and unlock was different on the tailgate than the doors.
Took the tailgate back apart and swapped the wires to the reverse wire colors.
It works fine now and it's a little quieter.

    Old style
    [IMG]

    New style
    [IMG]

Then, the RED "HI" LED went out on the driver's side switch of my aftermarket seat heater.
Bought a pair of $7 switches on Amazon.
Swapped it out, tested it, it worked, so I put it all back together.

Looked at them again when I put my truck in the driveway.
Turned them both on and the new switch was much brighter than the old one.
So I took it all apart and replaced the passenger side so they would look the same..

So, I have to say (going from my '08 to my '21)...

When I pulled the rear seats to swap out the sub I was surprised that there was no plastic trim covering the rear bulkhead behind the seats; just super thin layer of foam. When I first saw that I thought someone left out a section of interior trim paneling from the factory or when they did the window tint. The '08 at least had plastic trim running across the bulkhead so it looked like a finished product.

Anyhow, I ordered enough of the sound deadening prodcut to do my panels. I just wish I had it on hand when I had it apart the first time. Yours came out really nice, and every time I see someone's truck w/this completed it makes me want to open mine back up and get it done!!!
