We didn't finish because my wife decided to pop ours out before the third and final session where they talked about how to actually take care of a kid. But, on the plus side, I know a lot more about labour than I ever wanted to.

 

I'm an EMR and they had a half day on childbirth in that course. I'm good with that amount of info. Lol

 

Anyone else wind up getting roped into their friends couple/marriage issues and get tired of being a mediator? I love these people, but my gosh can we please be adults? Marriage is hard. It takes work. Blending families is hard. It takes work. Either put in the work or quit, but do something!

 

Being a part of it that support structure as well as simply spectating makes me realize how glad I am that I can have honest conversation with my wife, like adults, about adult topics, and be okay doing so without dragging the world into it. Also probably not a coincidence that our remaining friend couples are similar. Not that we went looking for these people, it's just that they are the most likely to still be married. Regardless, we do all we can to absolutely not get involved in other people's relationship issues unless we have a strong bias towards one side and are willing to forfeit any relationship with the other party.

 

Not much worse than asking for advice about marriage from someone who hasn't been married or cannot even keep a relationship.
Unless it is asking for advice about your kids from someone who never had kids.

totally agree. Yugo sold a lot of cars, but it didn’t mean they were any good. All you need is great marketing to sell crap cars or a great agent to sell crap music.

Oh, there's not any coddling going on. This is a damn hand grenade into plans that were made months ago, so I am definitely going to be honest with it. True friends stab you in the front, and all that. There definitely needs to be a come to Jesus moment with their kids, and if that's not going to happen then everything's gonna suck for them.

My wife gets the same treatment. She knows when I say something looks good on her, I really mean it. She NOW appreciates my brutal honesty, it took a bit for her to get there though.

 

I reached a point with each of my two older brothers, where I made it clear, if I wanted to hear about the pissing and moaning about marriage, I would have gotten married myself. I value the peace and quiet of my life and everyone close to me knows that.

 

Though I can relate to that, I also know that everybody has to vent some times. If me listening can help, great. But when it's the same known issue for years... shit or get off the pot. Fix the damn problem.

 

That's basically my point. If there is something I can help with or provide perspective on, I will. If it is the same crap being regurgitated over and over then I am not the best person for that. Speaking personally, I remember one night my middle brother and I had been out together having dinner and we had a couple of drinks and he confessed to me that he had cheated on his wife. I lost respect for him from that moment and would have rather not known. Every time I see his wife and daughter, I remember that conversation from years back and it makes me sick.

We just got back from dinner at Chuy's.
For one thing, it is NATIONAL MARGARITA DAY - February 22, 2025 - National Today and the other thing is we didn't make it out for Valentine's.
So this was our belated V-Day dinner.

We each had 1 margarita and then we both ate too much.
We should have split a entree, that works out well when we do that.

My first drink of alcohol since January 14th and it is nice I don't want another one.
I don't want to get back into the drink 3 or 4 beers every night just because it is a habit.

Depends on the season, how fancy the place we're going to is, how much walking there will be... I usually say flats so I don't have to listen to incessant whining about how much her feet hurt.

 

Yugo sold a lot of cars because he wanted her to get the car in the divorce.

 

Any of the crew here do Gummies to relax/sleep? I have a hell of a time unwinding at the end of the day, and sleep doesn't come easy. Picked these up today, so I'm going to give them a shot and see what happens.

 

Take two and see how you feel in the morning; I’ve never tried any marketed directly for sleeping but any heavy indica will help too. I would also try taking them earlier than later, sometimes in takes a while to kick in

 

I'd like to, much better on the body than booze.
