Hello everyone. New member here. My name is Frank and I currently live in Hawaii. Over the years I’ve owned 6 Toyota pickups from the early non-Tacoma diesel, an 1985 non-Tacoma that’s still running, a 96, 98, 02 and a 17.

I going to look at an 07 Tundra Limited, 5.7 4x4 later today in Hawaii. Very clean and well taken care of. 96,000 miles auto trans. Leather interior is immaculate. 6” lift (not sure what brand).

What should I look for as far as issues? A quick search said the 07, being the first year of the 2nd gen has some transmission and engine issues. Can anyone verify or expand on this please? My Tacomas have just ran forever except for the 2017 which I hated for a few reasons. Being on the Big Island of Hawaii, it’s very rural. I’d hate to get stranded as it’s literally an all day situation to get towed.

I’ve been reading through the forum with a lot of great info but not much specific for a 2007. I’d appreciate any advice. No bashing please.
