We are stopping for the night. I'm grillin burgers, hot links, and stuffed jalapenos.
We got it mostly taken apart and the LCAs pre-assembled with the LBJs.
Still have to do tie rods, steering rack bushings, etc

Yeah, I’d be surprised if it was a loose suspension component causing the noise. It’s so directly related to wheel speed, and my mechanic checked every single joint for play, and all he could find was a loose sway bar link.

But a CV axle also sounds pretty severe, and you probably wouldn’t notice this noise if the radio was turned up loud.

The video makes it seem super loud just because the interior of that car is so damn quiet. The insulated glass makes an insane difference. I’m definitely with you though- I really feel like it’s driveshaft related.

The driveshaft only has one U-joint, both the transmission and differential connections are rubber flex joints.

Just hard to pull the trigger on any parts when they’re all expensive and we don’t have any obvious culprits.

That’s pretty scary. I would’ve thought they were licensed appraisers to do that sort of work. My father got his appraiser license in the 70s and he’d tell the adjuster if required work beyond what the insurance listed. Nine times out of ten, they’d total it out of the hidden risk for a bad wreck. It was pretty cool he had the authority to request more out of the claim than what was listed.

I use something similar to this model, it’s nice because you can set low alarms too. Thats saved my ass a few times when I’ve had a flame out

I’ve got an Igrill that’s in the meat now. I just threw the lump in there last night. I’ve smoked so many pork butts on this grill that’s I really don’t need a thermometer. On at 10:30-11pm. At 7:30-8am it’s ready to wrap. At 10:30-11:30am it’s ready to pull. Thermometer just proves I’m right at this point.

Finally warming up around here with a high of 35F. Should be in the high 40s-low 50s this coming week though. No jacket weather IMO.

I've had that 333 fab clamp for I'd like to say a year now. My clamp was wonky and this was the end all solution.
