    Keep us posted.

Likely will be with your insurance to start - who should almost certainly bring out an origin & cause (O&C) investigator to determine the cause of fire.

I would most certainly ask for a copy. Toyota may or may not agree with the findings - or they may not be able to determine a cause.

My personal opinion though this one they should be able to trace a cause to. Not like many I’ve seen where all that’s left are ashes and a frame.

Even though source of ignition wasn’t at those charging cables - will not surprise me if they are the cause. Just seen way way too many fires from those things. Of course have also seen more than a few batteries and other electrical components responsible too.

Short in a switch/knob on climate control ? Seems to be pretty hot in that area.

I’m betting that coffee was too hot.

I know a lawyer who has experience in cases like this. His name is Jackie Chiles.

Going to need to see the stats on "most car fires are started by a joint or weed pipe" I am going to call bull crap on that one 100%. What an insane thing to try to say.

That women actually had her gentiles are burned up and stuff. I always joked about it too, but about a year ago I read an article that explained it a bit more.

    @justin.hutton83

sorry this happened to you but I am glad it didn’t happen while you were driving or had someone in the vehicle that couldn’t readily escape. I hope it all works out in your favor

So how did Toyota treat you after the conclusion of their investigation? They told me that yes it appears your fire started in the front of the center console but the area was so badly damaged we could not determine how the fire started... "sorry we can not offer you assistance."

Since I have opened another case stating I did not find their actions satisfactory and would like to set up a time to discuss with them. They literally just ignored what I said and told me that since I had requested their conclusion letter they were going to go ahead and send it to my email and snail mail.. I didn't ask that at all, I had asked to speak with them regarding their findings.

So yesterday, the 12th, I called and asked to speak with Daniel, my case manager.. Daniel was very easy to get ahold of while the investigation was ongoing.. but not so much today. I was put on hold for maybe 15 min more or less and when the call center person came back she told me that Daniel is not who I would need to talk to regarding the outcome of the investigation. And that since I HAD REQUESTED TO KNOW THE FINDINGS OF THEIR INVESTIGATION THEY WOULD GO AHEAD AND FORWARD ME THE LETTER!

    smh...

I explained that is not what I had said and that I have read the letter several times. That I needed to talk to Daniel or whoever was appropriate to discuss Toyota's lack of response to my truck spontaineously bursting into flames. She said she would note that I have read the letter and that she would send my message to Daniel (i think?)

Anyways.. I bought a brand new Tundra two years ago believing that I was spending my money on a truck that would outlast other trucks on the road and a company that would take care of me.. not give me the middle finger.

SO, I guess that I'm out the equity I had paid off on the principle.. my insurance has increased significantly with the total loss of a new and pricy vehicle.. I was injured with second degree burns across my right palm and fingers.. i I missed work.. and despite carrying full coverage AND gap insurance apparently I still owe Toyota Financial thousands.

    WOW.

Dude. Lawyer up, my brother (don’t use Jackie Chiles lol). Seriously, I would think any lawyer would quickly take this case. And I’m sure Toyota, once contacted by a lawyer, would be much easier to deal with.

Not sure why a lawyer would want this case? Lawyers want cases with sizable payouts. They like personal injury, not vehicle damage cases.

Good advice. And no not third degree burns but second on my right and dominant hand which kept me from doing my job for weeks.. I work seasonally so it definilty hurt big time. I will definitly consider hiring an attorney if I can find one that wants to take on the case. Any introductions to one that works on this kind of case would be much appreciated.
