Just picked up my 2025 a little over a month ago. Just got out of work and realized the entire center console caught on fire and burned up while I was inside working. Truck is destroyed and won’t even start. Dealer picked it up and is going to investigate what happened. I had a cup of coffee in the cup holder and a couple gas receipts in the front tray. It seems to have melted the most right where the Bluetooth charging station is, but that is just what my opinion is at the moment

I am really sorry to see that. That is beyond acceptable.

Start shopping for a new truck. That one isn't getting fixed.

I had a usb cable randomly catch fire while attached my computer once. Did you have anything plugged into the ports?

I did have the charging chords that came with the truck plugged into the hidden compartment but nothing was damaged there. It’s literally a giant hole right where the Bluetooth was and all the damage is there and straight up into the rear view mirror and visors. I had nothing there except a couple receipts and the coffee you see in the cup holder

I’m not even sure what to do. I have less than $3000 miles on it. It was just so random. It took me a minute to even realize what I was looking at . I hope the dealership makes it right and doesn’t try to pass the blame.

You aren't going to be driving that truck again. You may be out your insurance deductable.

Weather Toyota wants to keep this quiet and buy it back, that remains to be seen.

I'd push for a buy back. Your insurance should not be involved in this.

Toyota should make you whole again PERIOD. The corporation should (not) put profit before the safety and well-being of its clients. If they start to give you the run-around, put them on blast via social media. Companies go to great lengths to minimize and avoid reputational risk. It's both a motivator and in this case it's your leverage; use it.

Well, sorry to see this, this is a new trick Toyota must be releasing on the 25's. The engine bust was getting old.

the ABSOLUTE best thing about this, is that you had the OEM wires plugged in. You know 100% those ass clowns in the dealer and at corporate will try to say your anker Amazon cable did it. Having their wires in there, removes that entire argument.

Best of luck, and hopefully this really isn't a new thing that Toyota introduced.

Very glad you are ok and this happened when mostly empty and parked!

Others have great advice here, so I will just say.. start shopping and be ready to push for a buy back.

Most important, so I will say it again, I am glad you are ok!

I appreciate everyone and their concern for My safety. I really appreciate all of you and your comments. I had to file a claim with Toyota today. The dealer called and asked me one last time if there was anyway that I did this by accident. I informed them I wasn’t in the vehicle at the time and that there would be no way it was caused by me or anyone else. I’m not even a smoker. They said Toyota will send an investigator to comb through and determine what the cause was. I will definitely keep you updated when I have more news.

Oh yeah they are going to investigate it. They have a whole fire investigations team I'm sure. A friend of mine used to do that for a different manufacturer. Most times it was a sound system, weed pipe or joint, or some other aftermarket accessory. Hopefully the truck is fully stock and hope Toyota owns this.

Truck was definitely stock. No after market anything. As far as weed pipe I don’t smoke in my vehicle so chances are 0.

That’s insane. Absolutely insane. It’s easy to be an armchair quarterback, but I’d take a video of the incident and immediately get a hold of a lawyer.
