    Hello to all,

Changed my oil at 5K, and did the oil reset via computer. However, i keep getting the annoying "Maintance Reauired" every time I start the truck.

Question: is there a way to remove this annoyance or does it have to be done by the dealer? I can hit the "back arrow" but that only temporarily remove it.

Ques 2: is there a way to completly disable this entire maintenance required software reminder xxxx? I change oil every 5K, know when tranny, brakes, etc all need work done, so I do not need the truck reminding me.

    Thank you very much !

    1. Use the steering wheel buttons to navigate to Settings>Maintenance Reset>then select Yes.

    2. I've never heard of a way to disable the maintenance reminders completely.

2 settings that can be reset. Maintenance and oil. Both in the same place in the menu tree although the oil one looks to be "within" the maintenance tree. The oil one comes up at 10K and the maintenance on comes up at 5K. No way to change the intervals.

Toyota maintenance reminders go off of odometer data only, I know some other manufacturers use algorithms using ambient temperatures, engine load values, engine trip cycle times, engine idle time, etc to adjust oil change reminder periods such as Ford and Honda and others I assume

    Thanks

i changed my oil at 5012, and did a reset which it acknowledged. I'm going to take it in for the rotation and fluid top off. They cannot screw up that.

I guess this is dealer dependent, but i usually have my ranch toolbag/drill in my back seat. Do you guys think my tools will go missing or should i remove them prior to going?

    Also, thank you rc

I believe the logic goes like this-
5k maintenance is for tire rotation
    10k Oil Maintenance
I just do 5k tires and oil and reset them both
