Took the truck on a nice road trip this past weekend. When I stopped for gas on my way home, I found this!

No damage behind it thankfully but I’m a little peeved that it was so easily damaged! I didn’t hear or see anything that would have caused that!
Now the next question is, is it covered under warranty?

I'd say, definitely not. Warranty doesn't cover rock damage. Now, if the finish was peeling off with no sign of mechanical damage, then yes.

Your grille didn't fail, it did it's job. Probably kept that rock from hitting the condenser or radiator. No warranty, that's just a hazard of the road, be glad it didn't hit your paint. I guess you could get your insurance to cover that if you wanted. You can usually get a grille for $200 or less if you look around.

Unfortunately I got a few hits in my paint too. The clear PPF did its job for the scratches but I have 2 small dents.
Thanks for the different outlook, appreciate it!

Yep, they are incredibly thin, wimpy plastic. I think Toyota might have shaved an ounce or three on the grille.
Keep your eye out in the 3rd gen Marketplace subforum here. Guys swapping out to Pro/Heritage grilles all the time.

Thanks for the reminder: Still have to get the truck in for PPF.
