Black OEM Interior Trim

Sick! Yea, not hard at all. It’s looks so much better glad we went that route.

 

I’m just waiting for my wife to notice and give me hell. My three year old noticed 3 seconds after getting in the car when I picked him up from daycare.

Nope! And we spent a considerable amount of time in the truck this weekend going to and coming back from the mountains. I kept dropping hints on how observant the 3yo is compared to her.

I’ve been reading the posts, first time posting. I was wondering if anyone knows about where to source the A, B, and C pillar interior trim in black or would you have to stain using SEM paint?

 

I believe that the interior posts are only beige or gray.

 

So then, the only way to truly get them black is to find an upholsterer who specializes in staining them or just painting them outright

 

I believe that is correct. You can try going to a dealer and asking the parts folks if there are any upper black interior parts but I am fairly certain it was only available in the two colors.

 

Yeah, the dealership guys here in my town are all pretty incompetent, they are not like @Ramon

 

Those pieces are only available in the two lighter colors.

 

oh man i stumbled on this thread through google lol. I DEFINITELY need to black out the interior of the Platinum. I get a lot of sun glares from the shift surround.

 

Been there. Make certain you spray matte clear on the main part too.

I couldnt find it in the thread since most were leaning towards the metallic color, but do you have the paint you used for that black dash? looks incredibly clean and want to do that same. Has it held up well?

Thank you! It has held up great. I used SEM trim flat black. If you want extra durability put a few coats of satin clear coat on it.

 

@Kbar691 did you paint just the panel or also the AC vent trim rings?

 

I painted just the trim ring. Pulled the vent apart and removed the ring. Even pulled all the knobs apart and painted those rings too.

 

Love how the SEM charcoal metallic matches so closely to the existing gunmetal trim that's above dashboard and to left and right of dashboard.

Unfortunately SEM charcoal metallic has been discontinued.

Wondering if anyone has any close alternatives?
