I absolutely love my 2021 Tundra TRD Off Road.

I had to let it run today because I want it defrosted for when the plow gets here so I can move it right away. I don't keep it in the garage... I should learn how to get it in there, I do have three bays, two are empty.

Anyway, I started it manually but wanted to stop the truck with my remote start but nowhere is there a button that says STOP.

I Googled it and got this:

A Toyota Tundra remote start typically doesn't have a dedicated "stop" button because most factory remote starts utilize the lock button functionality to both start and stop the vehicle;simply press and hold the lock button again to turn off the remote start, essentially using the same button for both actions, so there's no separate "stop" indication on the remote itself.

Can anyone confirm this for me?

I guess what I meant was, did it work for anyone else? I could not get it to work.

If I remote start the truck and want to shut it off without going out there, I hit the unlock key on the fob, as that will shut it down. If I'm not heading right out there, I'll follow it up with the lock key to lock it back up.

Just to be clear, it's the UNLOCK button you need to press to turn it off, not the LOCK button as stated by Google.

Is this only the case for the trucks with keyless remote entry with push button start?

I called Toyota because it is NOT working. I have to go in for service and inspection soon so they will check out then.

Interested to see what they say, although some dealers have no idea that it even exists in the first place. It is my experience(mine stopped working sometime last year), and what I have seen others post here, that the remote unlock with the fob for keyless vehicles will only work for three years. It would be nice if it could be extended. I don't care enough about it to pay for an aftermarket option or subscribe to the app.

Oh yes he said it was correct. Do you mean it only works because it's a paid feature? I think I do pay for WiFi and Safety Connect. Maybe that is the problem? I will have to see if have to pay for remote connect! Thank you.

I checked and I do have it.. it's on auto-renew for Mar 25.
