What snow tires do you folks have? Any good?

I got my truck last summer, still using the stock Yokohama Geolandar Ditchfinder A/T tires. I gotta say they aren't any good at all in snow.

I also assume going to 18 wheel is the way to go. Mine has 20's, and only a few tires available for it.

I have Toyo gsi6. It was all that was available when I needed winter rubber. I’m not impressed.

I recommend blizzaks, or nokian tires.

I have the Nokian Hakkapeliitta Studded Snow tires and they are, in my view, worth every penny. They are NOT cheap, but I've said it once and will keep coming back to this - what is the safety of your family/friends/yourself worth to you because you will not find a better performing tire for serious winter conditions than the Hakka's.

I am from Minnesota, but live in Texas now. I put these Cooper Discoverer AT3 on my vehicles up north and I have them on my 2021 1794 Tundra Crewmax here in Texas! The ride is quite and the traction is great in snow, rain & ice. You can't go wrong with them.

I bought Milestar Patagonias XT. Rated very well online. I have used them in mud, rain and snow. I am extremely impressed and they are super quiet. I will never buy anything else. I have owned Nitto Ridge Grapplers and Goodyear MTR's.

I do enough of on (not off) road snow driving that I opt for dedicated snow tires. My opinions are:

    (1) All seasons, even the three peak rated, are no substitute for true snow tires
    (2) there are great options out there but you can’t go wrong with Blizzaks.

They just go me through two canyon storms the last two weeks.

I have studded Nokian Hakkas on the Tundra, Cooper snow claw on the FJ cruiser and Blizzaks on the wifes 4runner.

First time using the Nokians and they are the best all around winter tire in rain, snow and ice. Just pulled out a few delivery trucks up an incline on iced over roads with them haha. Not cheap and usually Load D, definitely get the studded version as the special studs are not loud and are semi retractable. Look pretty good too.

Ran a ton of Blizzaks, one set on my old Tundra in 255/70r18. Very good winter tires, usually pretty cheap and light. Only issue with them is only last 20k miles or so which is like 3-4 seasons for me, but are cheap enough I don’t think this is a problem.

First time with Cooper snow claws and they are not as good as Blizzaks but obviously feel far superior to all terrains so far in rain/snow/ice. They apparently last longer and were 10-20% cheaper than blizzaks, they also look like an All Terrain whereas Blizzaks look very all seasony.

Recommend against studding all terrain tires for winter now. Also dislike studs you get at tire shops vs better tire compounds now that I’ve had many sets (studded Generals, Studded Duratracs, etc).
