I bought mine on eBay from this seller: https://www.ebay.com/itm/204596779661

Maybe nothing, maybe something: the seller in the link above shows location as New Jersey, but mine shipped from California. Could be because I'm in Colorado, but could also be because Launch is a Chinese company and that's where they import to and this is an actual Launch product. Maybe....

30 day seller paid return, the seller name is "launch official shop" but i"m under no delusions that it really is. So is it a knockoff? Maybe.... but my truck runs better and I didn't have to leave it at a dealer for seveal days and argue with them about the applicability of the TSB and it was $107 vs $1200

I look at it this way: I'm a firm believer in investing the money in good tools that I use regularly, but if I run across a tool vacancy I need rarely or even just one or two times, I'm not above picking that one up from Harbor Freight.

I specifically looked for a 2025 model under my assumption that it would be more updated with the latest firmware; when I ran my initial update batch there were only 3-4 small ones and the whole update took under 3 minutes compared to others stating theirs tooks quite a long time.

I've read others worrying about how some of these say "Toyota" on the box and other say "T"; mine is the latter but when I turned it on (not connected to the truck yet) it had Toyota / Lexus in the main menu screen.

Right, eBay is often some of the same sellers as Amazon just a different online presence and frankly I prefer ebay and almost always find identical items cheaper with free shipping from the same seller as amazon.

ebay may route it through paypal (they're the same company now anyway), but I use my visa/amex and they also provide excellent recourse if needed. In all the years I've been using eBay, I can only think of one case where i needed to return something that was listed as returnable where the seller went silent and eBay refunded the full amount without even having to physically return the item.

I'm right there with you. 9 times out of ten I'm usually ordering from eBay. The main difference between eBay and Amazon is usually a generational thing. Or at least that's what I've found.

After 20 years on eBay I quit and deleted my account. I bought a part for an older Plasma TV and it didn't work. Contacted the seller and after a small wait, they told me to send back and I'd get a replacement part. Sent it back and never heard from them again. Contacted eBay to "investigate" but they ruled in the seller's favor simply because she told them I received the item. Asked PayPal to investigate and they ruled the same (of course, they're one and the same company). The seller never refunded me the money and I never got the part.

Amazon has only done me wrong once, and it didn't cost me a dime.

Only time I’ve ever been hacked was through eBay and PayPal. Someone used my PayPal account to buy a gold Nokia phone. Tried to escalate with both companies and was told I was liable. Told them to shove it and closed my accounts.

Only have 1 problem with a product on Ebay. I bought a 9ah battery and charger thinking I needed a bigger battery for my polisher. Charger did not work. Seller refunded money and said keep it. Took it apart and 1 wire was on wrong connection. Works fine now. Another time I bought a puller to remove fly wheel on ATV and not what I needed. Seller refunded half.

Interesting. I’ve had the opposite experience. I’ve received some bait and switch goods (like a “JBL” subwoofer that was really a white van special with the letters JBL stenciled on to the cone) and counterfeit goods (like M18 batteries) and eBay has always taken care of me as long as I had detailed pictures. The m18’s took a minute as the seller contested and posted false photos showing I’d pulled them apart and sent him a pile of parts but the ding dong posted pics of completely different batteries.

Amazon, on the other hand… I’ve got more damaged unreturnable items than I can count. They show up busted in the box but won’t even start a return claim. I’ve also returns items to a Kohls location that they charged me for 3 months later, despite the receipt I had from kohl’s.

1 thing I will not buy off Amazon or Ebay is NGK/Denso spark plugs.

did you leave truck running or off while doing the relearn/reset for the alcohol density. I too have that same scanner. But when I did it, the % never changed. I’m at 75%.
