Looking to tap the knowledge of the forum members as I am a complete beginner in Tundras.
The truck I am buying is 2023 SR5 TRD sport.
    1. Window sticker says it’s lowered ( I believe it’s 1/2”) does this effect my towing/sag at the rear? Would a SR5 without the TRD have more or less sag?

    2. This truck has the engine recall but from what I have read here, most of you don’t think this is a bad thing. I am not used to buying into problems but this truck looks very cool and comfortable for trips.

    Thanks

I'm not sure how much it will affect your towing, but I would say (in general) these trucks squat pretty bad overall compared to others. I tow a 31 foot travel trailer and it sits really low, to the point I'm thinking of adding either air bags or possibly the Timbren SES.

Regarding point 2 - my truck is in the recall, and the way I look at it is with a glass half full approach. Yes, it sucks having something major like this looming...but then again, if you put some miles on it, and have no issues, you can do the swap once it gets up there and have a brand new engine. Which to me is pretty cool.

Something else to consider is that Toyota is at least doing the right thing by swapping out the engines. Look at the issues GMC is having at the moment with their engines and transmissions. I had a 2018 Sierra before this and my transmission went out around 50k miles. Luckily I had purchased an extended warranty which covered it, but in my opinion that transmission issue should have been a recall. So many people had similar experiences, and now they're having engine problems as well. So really, to me it says a lot that Toyota is at least standing behind their reputation.
