I just installed the Retrax XR Pro cover on my TRD Pro. Curious if anyone else has experienced a similar issue I have and what you may have done to fix it. The rear tailgate does fully release when using either the side button or the tailgate button on the center of the gate. It will unlock and move just little but appears to be getting hung up on something. I can press the button on the center of the tailgate again and with a slight pull down force it will open. I think the rubber seal on the end of the rolling cover is keeping the tailgate from releasing all the way. With the cover retracted the tailgate operates as it should.

I noticed my cover has newer labels on it then what I've seen previously from this brand. The stickers on it say RealTruck Retrax. I also noticed the drain tubes have a reducing tube on them to fit into the stock drain holes in the bed. Previous videos online of the same cover don't have the reducer. Production date of the cover was Dec 2024. So there may have been some production changes.

Thanks for any help or suggestions in advance.

I have the same cover and the cover does hang on mine too. I’d rather it be a tight fit to keep out the water though.

For the Drain tubes, mine are a piece of corrugated tubing that’s easily crushed. Wasn’t a fan of that to be honest and just never installed them.

Thanks for the feedback. I'd prefer the same in regards to keeping as much water out as possible. The drain tubes I got are not corrugated and are a soft rubber like material. Posting a picture, the water in the bed was left over from some snow we had the day of install.

I have the same cover and it hung all the time until I loosened the cover and slid it toward the cab until the rubber seal just barely goes on top of the tailgate. It will never stop the tailgate from opening now unless it is frozen from snow/ice. The seal form the cover was going over the tailgate and catching in the lines on top of the tailgate . Yes I know it can leak a little easier this way but I use the tailgate feature a lot.
