I have a 22 tundra non jbl, installed a beatsonic ena-3t3 which made a noticeable improvement, it has rca outputs to add a sub amp. So I installed a 10" with a 800w skar mono amp that I had from my old GMC, it hit pretty hard in that truck but not nearly as much output in the tundra, any ideas on what could be the problem?

First guess would be gain, did you reset the gain on your mono amp to match the voltage output of the beatsonic? Not sure what voltage the beatsonic puts out on its RCA’s but if you have a link it might say

Is the subs impedance the same from the GMC to the Tundra? What impedance are you running the amp at? Are both boxes the same, ported vs sealed?

A 2-ohm sub has less electrical resistance and can pull more power from the amp, but depending on the amp it can generate more heat. A 4-ohm sub will pull less power from the amp and sometimes sound cleaner. A ported box will sound louder than a sealed box.

Like mentioned, gain(s) on the beatsonic would be my guess. You need to set the gain on that one to max, clean power. Then you go and set your skar (don't get me started on that stuff). Doesn't sound like you have much audio knowledge, so I would take it to a shop who has the tools to do this right

If you have a multimeter you can Youtube how to set your gains with it, although it’s somewhat dependent on manufacturers being true to spec on thaler power ratings. Can also grab a handheld oscilloscope that doubles as a multimeter, nifty tool to have.

Thanks guys for the input, I got it all working great today. Really not sure what I had wrong but just went back through everything and retuned, sounding good enough for what I'm looking for, I know the skar stuff isn't great, but have been using this amp for years in 3 vehicles and have never had a problem with it. I've put together a few bigger systems used to have 2 JL w7 13"s with diamond components like 10 years ago. But just don't need that much anymore. Thanks again

Skar Audio is descent stuff for everyday use, you have shown that yourself. Steve Meade tested their amps and subs and said their amp was a legit contender, he was testing an RP 1200.1D.

I personally dont see why it makes sense to drop in $500 subs, and an expensive amp when you didnt upgrade the remaining speakers throughout. Glad you figured it out.
