love my Tundra but factory remote start is the worse I have ever had, only works with phone if there is service and takes a few tries to get it to work plus it has no distance at all, if I was allowed to put the one I always had without voiding warranty I would

The app on phone should work anywhere you have Internet.
I have never had an issue using the app.
Are you possibly talking about starting with the fob?
Everyone has the same issues using the fob of needing to retry multiple times and poor distance.

yes, the fob sucks, I have always had a remote that would start 2 to 3oo yards away

One thing I didn't realize at first is that the lights don't always flash with each press. I used to try to time the fob presses to line up with the light flashing. Now, I push the fob once, and see the lights flash on the first press, then quickly press it two more times and when I get to the third overall press I hold. As long as I see that first flash, it works about 98% of the time. I figured this out by standing right next to the truck, pressing the fob three times, and hearing the locks engage, even though the lights didn't flash on the last two presses of three. Very rarely do the truck lights flash with all three presses of the fob button. Hopefully, this helps!

Also note holding that third press seems to always take longer than you think, as long as you see that first flash just keep holding the third press and the lights will flash eventually again indicating the truck is starting up.
