My brain works in inches too. Plus the bolt size probably doesn’t matter for those. Won’t be removed/installed frequently.

But I'm about to spend $1k on an old hobby of mine (paintball) so may just keep putting it off so you can keep working on this dopeness lol

Cant say ever ever looked at a DC frame. Are they the same?

Come hang for a long weekend, I'll put you on some fish and feed you BBQ.

Started the day off by cutting the 10 1.5x1.5x.125 square tubes that will weld to the frame doubler. They were tacked into place and then main tubes were cut to fit and tacked.
    20250205_122157.jpg

These 8 pieces are the "spools" that bridge between the main tube and the square tube. The scrap pile to the right is every bit of tube I have leftover.
    20250205_142059.jpg

This is every tool you need to cut any tube notch.

    20250205_184045.jpg

You may notice that one of the spools on each side isn't spaced equidistant.
I know, It's driving me bonkers too.
The outer spools all transfer their load directly to the inner square tubes, BUT I shifted one of those inner tubes 1.5" to provide better access to the bolt on the frame doubler. Im going to move the outer spool and cut a tube gusset to fix that load transfer issue in the morning before welding everything up. Oh yeah, Gussets. I need to cut some gussets too.
Im leaning toward a piece of tread plate on the Kickouts. I would have liked to do another 45 degree across there, but I'm out of material and still trying to get some more. Maybe I'll leave it until I have more tube in.

This is a whole lot of detail for the size. I would have to do a little testing, but you get the idea.

Easy... Weld a set to his frame, Beau's, Casey's, and any other Texan attending that needs sliders.
    Done and done.
I can't recall if Sean has sliders already.

This looks so amazing. You think you could just stretch the design for DCs? Also is that a plasma cutter hooked up to CAD? I didn’t know that existed! My fab experience is so rudimentary.

Also - sir, did you realize your inspection is out of date.

    Thanks!

    I can absolutely do a DC model(s).

Ideally I could find a local DC to borrow for a day for measurements and mockup. I have a few ideas on that front as there's already been some interest among DC owners.

I have a good sticker in the center console, only gay cops pull me over.

    I left off on gussets.
    Yep, these will work.

This shot shows the 4x4x.250 sq tube I used as a strong back for welding. If you just went nuts on this thing without thinking about heat management it would look like a pretzel.

Just about got my TIG legs back under me. A couple shakey spots, some slight undercutting, and generally not as crisp as I would like, but a little more practice will go a long way.

I need a ‘Sir Five’ plate for my bumper support. I’ll weld it on backwards in case i have to punish more brake-checkers.

Started a rear bumper yesterday using some 1" tubing.

This shape in the oem bumper caught my eye and this whole thing spiraled from there.
    20250209_120539.jpg

The first iteration was THICC. Overall just a little too wide and a little too tall making the proportions all whack
    20250210_165837.jpg
    20250210_165932.jpg

This morning I trimmed a little of the fat. Its now 4" narrower and 2" shorter. swapped the orientation of the coped joints for a more polished presentation too. Notice my sketchy stack of steel to hold it at height.
    20250211_112609.jpg
Cutting and prepping some of these parts is quite tedious.
    20250211_104019.jpg

Cut some plates to use the factory bumper brackets to attach the bumper.
    20250211_154210.jpg
    20250211_154224.jpg

Really tempted to knock this corner out and skim it with some filler.
    20250211_160508.jpg

Might work on it some more tomorrow, or might let it marinate for a day or two while I work on something else. The fit up is all really nice, so im looking forward to Gettin Tiggy with it. Its probably going to get some degree of a skin over the tube work to flesh things out.

Absolutely crushed a big toe today too.
Remember that sketchy stack of steel on the hitch to mock up the bumper hight? Yeah. The shop nikes didn't offer much protection from this CHUNK of 1/4".
Not sure if I got one of the points or what, but this was about an hour later (toe still on fire). I wasn't about to look under the bloody sock.
Also note the numerous welding burns in the top of the sock. Probably need to wear my boots more
