Why would this take all day?

Truck only has 15k and less than a year old but read 250 cold cranking amps.

Haven't noticed any issues when starting.

to do a full battery and load test, battery needs to be fully charged. So that can take a while, depending on charge level.
Seems reasonable, they will charge it for 4-6 hours and then do some testing = full work day.

It's the newer way Toyota wants service departments to be doing batteries now. They have a quicker test, but if that test doesn't pass/fail it will require the longer test.

To avoid just replacing the battery under warranty?

Charge the battery yourself and then take it in

    Nitrogen filled tires!
Standard practice for Ram dealers to fully charge a new vehicle battery and load test before they release it to customer. Likely most don't even follow their own protocol. Who knows what Toyota requires.
