Yes, he's obviously flexing. And you know what, I'm assuming he worked for his money and I have no problem if the guy wants to flex a little. I wouldn't do it personally, but I understand. He's proud of what I assumed he worked for. Congrats dude.

went to dealer and instead of $9.xx/filter, i bought a case of 10 for $7.23/filter or $72.30 for 10 + tax. They came in a box so I'll store them in the box until usage.

Also buying 10 5gal containers of Quaker State 0W-20 Full Synthetic. It's made in same refinery as Pennzoil Ultra Premium and has 2nd lowest NOACK rating only to Pennzoil.
I know a lot of folks like Mobile 1, which is a PAO where the QS full syn is made from natural gas.(GTL)

Polyolefin is a good base oil for heat, pulling long hauls or uphill or tough terrain.

GTL is best for high and low temperatures and also will clean your engine better and also offer better fuel economy. This is my preferred application. Therefore, not going to take the 2 free oil changes, esp at 10K. I'm a 5K change guy at the very least.

Yeah, don't want to start an oil war, but was completing the last phase of thread. I used Quaker State 5W-30 Full Synthetic on my Ford F150 Ecoboost snd traded in at 128K and w 25 oil changes. Never had one issue snd Avg 19-20 MPG city & Hwy.

I'm going to try Pennzoil 5w-30 Euro L on my next change and see what happens. I have about 2200 miles left before I swap. I read good stuff about Euro L, so hopefully she don't blow lol.

    Nitrogen filled tires!
never ever in the 10 plus years of having a FUMOTO valve on any of my trucks has the dealer removed it to drain the oil. I guess it is possible, and a reason to never allow the dealer to change your oil, or do anything else they could F'up and make you pay for.

by the time I get to the end my free Toyota Care the dealer will have changed my oil zero times. Rotate my tires and check my fluid is all I allow them to do as part of this plan. I do my own oil and let them know when I go in - they record it and that is that. I've got 8600 miles and five months left of my Toyota Care and I've changed my oil two times so far and the next will be at 10k.

I followed a lot from Bobistheoilguy.com and used Ford Motorcraft Semi-synthetic when I wasn't too concerned about getting the longest life as possible. Now I use Pennzoil Ultra.

Today took her in for the 10K service. So it’s the dealers turn to change the oil. I do 5K and the dealer does the other 5K. Luckily I checked the skid plate bolts before leaving. Sure enough one was miss and the plate was flopping around. Told the advisor WTF. They took care of it.

I’m debating on canceling my service contract. Prepaid up to 85K. Does anyone know how to do that?

Has anyone ever changed out the std Toyota 14mm oil pan plug for a magnetic 14mm plug? My weekend ranch tractor is 60 PTO tractor and it has 2 hydraulic filters that both have magnets at the installation interface. Every once in awhile i see some silvery goo, but not much on the tractor.

Ive had dimple plugs in the past. Haven’t seen any metal on the magnet which is a good thing.

    Thanks DRP & Raven.

I noted that each of these have "crush" metal washer. Is this a permanent washer or temporary? I bought a case of Toyota oil filters and each filter has a washer with it. Should the toyota OEM oil plug washer be used w the metal crush washer or in place of it?

    Appreciate it.

The washers are aluminum, so one time use is recommended. I ordered a bag of washers with my drain plug. I never tried the OEM washers, I'm sure they would work fine in place of.

I haven't on any vehicle. Just very little very fine "dirt" that you wipe off with a rag. All normal.

I just buy little magnets from HFT, drill the original plug to the depth of the magnet and insert one. It hold there by its power, but i put a little dub of epoxy, just to make sure.
I do it for years on all my cars, tractors, outboards and all. Motors, transmissions, rear axels. Everything which has oil and a plug without magnet.

In addition i use larger earth magnets and attach them to the oil filters. I know, it is overkill, buy who cares, as long as my OCD and motors happy

Bought a Gen 3 Tundra that came with lifetime oil changes, but the "service" interval is 10k which is stupid on a TT. I alternate oil changes every 5k between me and the dealership.

If you guys are changing your own oil then you probably maintain other things too. Greasing tools and machinery is important and leaking grease guns are a constant annoyance. I can't remember where I stole this grease gun storage idea from but feel free to use it if it works for you.

I call this my lubrication station.Lol

Holy S***... I keep my grease gun in a very large zip lock bag because it leaks. This is a game changer!
