Hey guys I have a 2017 Tundra and I just replaced the stock halogen lights with a nice set of Spyder LED headlights with switchback LED DRLs. The issue I have is that, only when the car is running, do the DRLs shine white. When I turn the selector switch to DRLs only, the top DRL bar goes amber while the bottom remains white. How can I make it stay a constant white and only have it switch to amber when I activate my turn signal.

Sounds like you need to look at the instructions or email Spyder.

Someone may chime in but not many folks have your headlights and have them do what you are trying to do. Contacting the manufacturer will probably be much faster and the more accurate response.

Yeah that was going to be my next step. Instructions didn't include that situation. Thanks anyway.

A few... Definitely more than 2
I don't know exactly how your year truck is wired but it sounds like it is the same as the older trucks. The way my truck is wired the 'DRL' and 'Turn Signal' are the same circuit (this is the amber light). To confirm that they are the same you have to click through the headlight stages, DRL (technically 'OFF' on the early trucks) would be amber, next stage up is parking lights and it would still be amber and you get your tail lights, then finally headlights now the 'DRL' portion of the circuit should turn off and you would have a white light that switches to amber only with the blinker.

The next step here is definitely true of the earlier model trucks but I am not positive if it applies to your truck I would need to look at the wiring diagrams. If the above-described behavior is the case for your truck there are two ways around it, 1. there exists a different flasher module that does not contain the 'DRL' function or 2. you can cut one the ignition trigger wire into the flasher module which will defeat the 'DRL' function of the truck and only turn the white lights on when you go to the parking light setting. I put switchback bulbs in my stock housing and I cut the trigger wire on my truck so now I can go total blackout or white with my parking lights and there only time my switchbacks go amber is when I turn on the blinker.

Did your OEM halogens have the white LED strip on the bottom or did it use the amber turn signal for DRL?
The plug wiring is different for each.

Also which Spyder headlight did you get?
