The days of hand washing my vehicles are over, got a monthly subscription for a new car wash place and go once a week, sometimes twice if I'm near there.
My question is my truck has the Toyota black rims like below. I hate that I can't get in the lug nut area and another area to get the dirt out without shoving a rag in there. Is there anything I can use right before going into the wash that will not damage the rim that will help get it clean without having to dig in there? Also concerned with the buildup on the inside of the rim, would love to just spray it down before going in to have the car wash clean it all off.

I ordered a pack of brushes that attach to my drill. My days of meticulously washing each nook and cranny are over - BUT I spray the wheels and let it soak for a few minutes. Then I hit them with the drill brush slowly moving it around to get into the cracks and crevices. This is the pack I got:

Score! I used to detail cars in college, then for a few yrs on the side until my career could support me.
You should be pretty happy with the results.

Adams Iron remover was suggested to you in an earlier post....which will dissolve brake dust.....but not the standard issue road grime that builds up. There are tons of lug nut brushes out there specifically designed for that task. Griots Garage sells a good one. A combo of a brake dust remover and an APC (all purpose cleaner) used with one of the lug nut brushes should get you the results you are looking for.

Normally, I'd recommend you get the wheels really clean and then coat them....but if you are hitting the swirl-o-matic that often.....it will be a waste of time, effort and money
