Going to try to "homologate", as they call it, a truck for importing it into Europe permanently. They want evidence its heavy duty enough to be a hauling vehicle and so less a pleasure vehicle than a work vehicle for lowering the sky-high registration and license fees for a vehicle of it's size and weight: of 5.7L V8, 7100 lb longbed with a heavy duty tow package. Is there a Toyota contact for getting the kind of detail they ask for, too long a list to give here. Honda has a source of such detail, but I can't find any place among all various parts of Toyota USA to ask . The Toyota app and the Toyota.com site has a way of inquiring, but they provide much less detail than is needed to get through the inspection process.

    Many on the way.
I can’t supply a Toyota contact, but there is an owner or two around here that already have the Tundra in Europe. One happens to be a customer of mine, he is based in Switzerland. I’ll drop him a note to see if he can offer you some info.

One thing that may or may not assist you, is that the Tundra is based heavily on the VDJ/URJ200 Land Cruiser, which was produced and sold from roughly 2007 - 2021. Engine, transmission, transfer case, differentials, brakes, ball joints, steering parts are all essentially the same, if not larger and more robust.

Thanks! This is headed for Switzerland too. I would appreciate any info he or you could come up with. Since we shipped it, they changed the rules. It apparently needs to be checked ASAP on arrival into the country, previously a year was allowed before it had to be checked. It’s supposed to get here Aug 1.

Sorry for reviving this old thread. I'd be interested in this too... I found a Swiss company that imports US Toyotas ("Auto Vetterli") and I have reached out to them as well but getting to know the experience from the owner is much more helpful and not driven by financial interest...

That said, if you could share your experience, I would greatly appreciate it :)
