Almost all the power is coming from a whipple supercharger and fuel system to supply that power. The motor build is around safely handling that power, new pistons, rods, head studs etc. Apparently the 2uz block is good for 1500 HP! Once I get the motor back it’ll get dyno tuned by a guy named Brandon Elsnor at Quantum Auto. Very curious to see what it’ll actually do. I found a Landcruiser build from a guy in Dubai with a similar build that dynos at 420 rwhp, so about 550 crank.

Once I’m all done I’d love to help out others in the performance section by giving more details of the build. It’s kinda odd that there is basically no info that I’ve found on any tundra forum about getting more power from the 4.7. All forum knowledge seems to say that the trd supercharger was the only option and those are rare gems that one can maybe find on eBay. Xatracing.com does full motor builds, and there are still two superchargers available to us, the xat 2.3 whipple kit and a couple options from bullet superchargers.

    Interesting.

The domestic Toyota motor variants definitely don't get the aftermarket love of the JDM favourites (2JZ etc)/

I had an 83 BJ60 landcruiser with an I4 NA diesel. It was built with piston skirt injectors etc and the following engine model (13BT) came turbo'd. I flipped the manifold and fit a turbo and oil lines etc, to it, a top mount IC. From the lowly stock 98-102hp it woke the thing up a lot but still small #'s compared to other modern projects.

Gents with the 1FZ and 3FE inline 6 cylinder motors in the 60 and 80 series landcruisers have some turbo kit options ($$$) domestically now. Apparently the 4.5litre 1FZ can handle a lot of horsepower and the saudi's are known to get them hopped up (1000hp+), for ripping up steep sand dunes and the like, but it's not something to be cheaply done like turboing an antiquated diesel.

Taking a UZ motor to close to 600hp will be cool. BE prepared for a million people and their kid brother to just tell you to put an LS swap in it, but cool none the less.
