Anyone else not pleased with how visible the brackets are on the Go Rhino RB10/20 running boards?

I knew there would be trial and error on my first tundra but the running boards have me going in circles to find my perfect fit. I love the style of the RB20 but the brackets stick out like a sore thumb.

Has anyone found other brand flat style brackets that work with the RB20?

I don't love the bracket visibility either, but I like them much better than the OEM Predator rails that I had on the truck beforehand, so I just deal with it. I also like how they are wider and provide some extra protection against door dings and rock chips. So, long story short I think the pros outweigh the cons here. I think if you want a flatter mounting system you'll have to go with a different type of running board or rock slider.

I agree with you on the pros. They’re still on my truck for those reasons.

Go Rhino makes a flat style bracket Part# 6844155 that I purchased. From side by side comparison they should be compatible with the RB20. The downside is they were designed for oval tube or their OEM extreme line of running boards. They will lower the RB20 down approximately 1.5” but because of the flat design ground clearance loss is negligible. I just don’t want to lower the step surface any.

If I had known about the other brackets I would have stayed with theRB20’s. The normal brackets puts the steps to close to the body with issues trying to clean that area. I prefer them to be away from the body more.

Here’s a side by side of the two brackets. You can see that the flat style brackets lower the running board considerably and overall the bottom of the bracket itself is about 1/4” lower. It’s definitely personal preference but when it comes to running boards I like high and tight. Although the OE extreme line of side bars these brackets were made for would probably look decent.

Thank you for the pics. Definitely a big difference. I’m going to stay with my Tyger steps for now.

I didn't care for the Rhino brackets. Went with the Tyger Blade running boards and have been very happy with them. Low profile and well made.

I love the way these ones look, high and tight. Can def see that being a preference that others don't share though. I don't think the brackets are all that noticeable unless you're actively looking for them; which I have to imagine us truck owners are scrutinizing our own trucks more than other people are. No regrets throwing these on my truck.

Right now I’m still playing with options. I’m working the Go Rhino RB20 bracket issue looking for alternatives to replace or have custom brackets. I’m also having a set of “KG” option boards coated with bed liner to see if that looks good since the durability of the molded plastic is not great. I’m also considering some sliders but I don’t need them or want the weight. There are some other good options out there, I like the rough country DS2 or HD2, the APS 6” IBoards, or surprisingly the Tyger blades mentioned in this thread. For the Tyger blades if you’re willing to have them coated with bed liner you can put duct tape over both sides of the logo and spray the bed liner over the tape to effectively eliminate the cheesy logo.

Tyger Blades. I’m OCD and difficult to please, but these have been great. Low profile and good quality.

Ended up doing this. RB20s off. OEM “KG” running boards - rhino lined, on. I think they turned out nice and like the texture compared to bare plastic. Went with rhino lining due to it being less abrasive but more grippy when wet than line-x. To prevent peeling they “wrapped” the entire assemblies including brackets.

Love mine, best running boards hands down, but don’t tell anyone, I don't want to start seeing them on every truck!

RB20ʻs are solid, and you donʻt have to watch where you put your foot. I installed amber under body LEDʻs that come on when the door opens, at night the amber light shines through the holes making it safer.

Nickatnight - can you post pics of Amber running lights, brand and where you purchased them?

I'm having issues with how much Go Rhino charges just for the brackets. Like why would they even be a separate item that costs $200. Making the total purchase over $900?? Has me leaning towards some of the other boards posted in this thread.

I know I'm bringing this thread up 3 years later, but do you have a part number on those running boards? I like that look
