I hope you got the sarcasm of some of us (especially myself).

You posted some really good content that people should not ignore even a little bit. Carrying a weapon is seriously business and it comes with a lot of anchors.

Trainers in the field, whether law enforcement or civilians, advise that when you call the police to report that you had to defend yourself, tell them you need 2 ambulances. One for the poor sap that tried to attack or rob you, and one for yourself. Nerves get frazzled. Your mind is not thinking correctly after such a traumatic incident. YOU need a trip to the hospital. DO NOT, AGAIN DO NOT tell the police that you will not talk to them until you talk to your lawyer. Most places will pretty much lock you up under murder charges with close to a $1 mill bail immediately. If you have to defend yourself in a situation like this, be very careful. Go to the hospital in the second ambulance. Most people will need a sedative after being involved in a shooting. Moreso if the crook is dead.

What you tell the police is the most basic info and how you had to defend yourself before you head to the hospital. Get your lawyer on the way to the hospital. Explain to the police that your brain is frazzled.

If your local DA is a Soros boy, chances are you are going to jail on murder charges no matter what. Especially if you are white and the other person is a minority no matter how clear-cut the evidence is.

If it was not a valid case of self defense you should go to jail.

And you cannot shoot someone if they are fleeing in most cases. If they turn around and have a gun you sometimes can.

Did you watch any of the Rittenhouse trial? That POS DA kept tearing up the type of ammo that is designed for this and that and trying to get Rittenhouse to admit he bought that ammo to murder.

It depends where I am going to be. I switch between a HK 9mm and a HK 45 compact. If I am outdoors and I need long-range accuracy where I may be shooting to defend myself with people around it is 9mm all day. The ballistics on a 9mm with quality ammo is unmatched. If I am going to be indoor and if I have to defend myself is CQB, it is my 45 ACP all day long. I want a round I know I fire once and its over. The 45 ACP is the only round that all but guarantees that. The problem with that round though is outside of 15-20 yards in a compact it is unpredictable what it will do. I have seen the bullets on a compact 45 ACP literally curve around the target at 20 yards. There is not enough barrel to keep it straight after a certain amount of distance.

When I hog hunt I have a Colt Python .357 magnum 6-inch with me. It is the only bullet that guarantees a kill in one shot at close range. I have watched multiple .223 and 5.56 rounds bounce off the hides of large hogs. It's effing scary.

There is no perfect gun nor is there a perfect bullet. Know what you are doing, where you are going, and bring the right gun and bullet for the job.

    Your words are poignant.

and, as some/most will agree, are difficult to process.

I agree with everything you are saying and understand where you are coming from.

the gun industry is partly to blame.

they want to make guns sexy and cool.

and, as you are saying, there is a whole-nuther side to this equation.

these facts crash up against all the confirmation bias of the gun industry advertisers.

your words should make everyone pause and consider all aspects.

    good stuff.

    kudos.:hattip:

I don't agree since I believe the sort of person that supports such a thing, is generally going to be a "gun guy" and a "gun guy" is the sort of person that carries to begin with, has a CCW, been shooting and hunting all their lives, military, police, fire sort of background---basically a Three Percenter or would qualify to join. That's been my experience. The only people I've met (and I'm the sort of person that has discussions with people I met the first time five minutes ago) that support an armed teacher is such a "gun guy."

But the general populace thinks "gotta have training" so the only way it'll happen is with some degree training and yearly shooting. I always enjoyed qualification time, I considered it another "NRA Action Pistol Match." If it's anything like the CCW course it'll be "gun guy common sense" but oh well, welcome to the training field! Something like Thunder Ranch though....now we are talking "training." Imagine a not "gun guy" listening to Col. Jeff Cooper for the first time! LOL

I've read "if a person had arguable reason to believe the fleeing suspect was going to immediately harm someone, just shot a cop, killed a child" might can get by with a shot to the back. G's got a weapon, just shot a cop, running away but towards a child screaming "DEATH TO THE INFIDEL!" maybe each of us should think about it. "Well God I didn't want to go to prison" gonna sound funny at Judgment.

I've heard all of that except the "go to the hospital yourself." Not sure I would as I don't have insurance and Bidenomics is hard. If someone's got the money, why not?

I heard our DA received Soros bucks. He was under investigation by the state. He resigned. I heard some things, pretty serious in nature things, but just what I heard. Given the source, I believe those. Anyway, that DA is gone. Hopefully we have a better one.

I didn't watch it.....who has time to watch TV all day? Anyway.....

Not surprised. Anti gunners tend to know nothing about guns and they pick juries that don't either. Leftists are commies and most lawyers will say anything to get paid.

Received the We The People Holsters IWB yesterday. Walther PPQ seems to work pretty well strong side or crossdaw. IWB definitely helping keep my now-loose pants up!

Once I get it to the range and test it out, might try carrying this a bit. If it replaces/displaces my normal summer carry of the Kahr.....I'll have to order another Andrews' Leather Carjacker Crossdraw to put on the seat belt.

Late to the game but why not?

I dont carry revolvers unless I am hunting. Couple reasons, sure capacity is one of them... sort of.

I have both single and double. I carry double because the one that fits comfortable and I am most accurate with is a double stack. The extended mag for it is in the other holster if deemed necessary. I always recommend having a second mag, but I do not always carry it.

I love that we have not had to find out ourselves, and I pray it stays that way. That said, I am ignorant on the legal aspect and will most likely spend time in lockup if I ever need to draw. That said, My intent will always be to secure my family first. Not necessarily stop the threat.

    Mall is the easiest example....

If shooting takes place, I egress with family, my body between them and the shooter. I do not engage publicly unless cornered and forced to. What separates you from the active shooter in a public domain? Timing... and then if you are lucky witnesses in your favor. That one person who saw you shoot and called in your description... or worse, the cop who responds and sees your weapon first... nah... In this aspect of life, i am selfish. I did my selfless part and served, now... I want to live in peace and with my family. That will always be the front thought..

Easy example people go to as well...

In traffic, gun to head, get out of the vehicle.. easy, enjoy the truck.. dont forget to use the tow/haul button! no life is worth a vehicle.

In traffic, wife next to me... cover ears..

"Why not?" The more the merrier!

I would definitely get some information on the legal issues that will be involved.

I've come across the "me and mine only" mindset before. That's fine, personal choice, free country and all. Heck, even the police have no legal duty to protect any one person and the Supreme Court has ruled that way at least twice. That's something most people are ignorant of.

I have so far---and hope I will continue to---find the courage to protect the innocent. I have stepped in for strangers before and I believe it was my moral duty to do so. I don't see that changing.

    Introducing the new Staccato HD.

I was the first call to put hands on this bad boy.

No back strap safety, drop safe, four 15 round mags, and feels great in the hand.

I'm leaning that way pretty hard. Another one I have been considering is the CZ 75 P-01 Omega. IMG_7051.png

So back on topic (sorry guys).

    Capacity matters in my opinion.

You just never know what one is up against. Personally, I hope that I never know the feeling right before I die that I ran out of ammo and just had to wait out my demise.

In Colorado Springs, CO there are several nice areas to live in, but I'm starting to second guess this:

    Kings Deer
    Broadmoor
    Cedar Heights
    Black Forest
    Monument

I live in one of these areas, and three of these areas are very close to each other.

Some know I have had attempted home invasions. That never gives one a warm and fuzzy. I handled it and lucky nothing happened.

Lately we have been having some drug issues out in my area (and Colorado is bad as a whole anyway). These crime rings either rent/buy/break into homes and set up operations. We have seen people walking around, scoping houses and probably doing look out operations. While walking around these people have been carrying AR style weapons. I'm all 2A, but when people do this sort of thing they bring attention to themselves whether it's for gun right activists or crime....not smart. I will say this, I have been considering a thermal scope for my .308. Lots of things creeping ant night out here. Yesterday was had a huge police presence in our area. What are the odds of watching SWAT (series) and having SWAT show up in the area?:D

Thankfully this trash was taken out to the dump.

Now I'm not advocating to go into a rifle battle with a G17, but I would give better odds than a GP100 .357.

About a year before I retired at 4 AM I was woke up 15 minutes early due to gunfire. Now gunfire is pretty normal out here due to animals getting into livestock, but that is usually no more that 1-2 rounds. There is a road behind our property and I could see the 3-5 round bursts and someone moving around the vehicle (passing in front of their headlights). Total I counted 29-30 rounds discharged to the south (we are directly east).
Not sure what was going on, but I'm pretty sure they were not shooting at four legged animals. The Sheriff Deputies and some other agencies responded pretty quick (8-9 min) considering where we live. A lot can happen in that time.
The red circle is where the shooter staged. I took this picture a few minutes ago.

I have had a vacant house on the acreage next to mine that has been that way for 1.5 years. The lady passed away and I called up a buddy thats an investor if he had a spare seven figures. He purchased it and has been sitting on the property. Believe me when I say we keep a close eye on that place.

I honestly believe that your own safety is in your hands alone in all aspects of life. There are outside influences that are not in your control but you can prepare the best on your side.

Today SB-003 is being heard on the senate floor in CO. If passed, all guns with a detachable magazine or semi automatic will be banned moving forward. Our Sheriff is 100% against this bill.

Snub 357, The muzzle blast will blind anyone in front, and make everyone within 30 feet deaf., so that should count for extra headcount. :oldglory:

Holy moly.., it is a hand cannon, and the snubby conceals so easily.

Have a couple of high capacity 9mm's, but that snub nose just carries so easily and never worried about the round not getting the job done.

Funny, I did hear a guy say once.., don't underestimate a .380 (nice little BUG), you aren't going to stand 15 feet away and try to play catch with it...
