I wanted to replace the rearmost crossbar of the flatbed with a piece of bent tube. I ended up just cutting it out and making some filler panels to taper it back in toward the drawer. Way cleaner, accentuates the booty, and gives way better access to the drawer.

Gotta put together some new (Revision 3 or 4 at this point) temporary tail light mounts. They had been just bailing wired onto that rear tube since the MERUS incident.:rofl:I guess I'll stick em right here this time.

Swooped some FJ wheels. They had 265/70-17 load range C mounted up. Bit softer then the load range E BFG i just pulled off. Feeling them out for a bit before I commit to new tires.

I'm big fan of LR-C. Getting hard to find in a lot of tire brands for some reason.

Same. Last set I had (Cooper ATS) got thrashed in the woods - they had about 20k on em so I ended up just getting (another fucking) set of BFG AT but went with LR-E to avoid. I like the E, they wear like iron and take abuse but they're just a touch heavy for our rigs IMO. Need a solid in between (D) pero no existe...

It would be 10x better with the Hellcat engine. Either that or just buy the older one with the Viper V10 engine.

Been busy this week, but I got my bilstein sticker on so +10 hp. Also washed off all the road grit and maybe salt since it snowed here. And now my valve cover leak has progressed enough to be dripping to the ground, so I gotta get on that. And it would appear my clunk while turning is in fact a sway bar/link noise. It had gone away, but yesterday I tightened one of my suspension maxx links since it looked like it needed to be snugged down and the noise immediately came back. I guess I’ll loosen it back up some?

Glad I did my VC gaskets before lifting my truck. Even at 6'1, I'd have needed a stepping stool to do the job now.

Those are my favorite edition of these wheels. I love the gunmetal inset area, I think it looks cheap with that area blacked out.

Too damn, stiff at that. I'd love something in D.

I just put on my first E rated tires. After driving them for a few weeks - I’ve been pleasantly surprised by how little they affected braking and accelerating. They are stiff though, for sure, more than I anticipated. I’m at 35 psi which is I think the lowest they recommend on E. This suspension and tire combo feels controlled, but not smooth. Like I can feel the seams and pebbles, but I could hit a curb going 50 and it would eat it up. Like the bigger the bump , the less it affects the ride. I wanted the open countrys though and they only come in E in this size. Toyo does have R/T trail though in SL in my size. But I think this set is gonna last 80 or 90k. So it’s gonna be a while.

I was able to really slow down my valve cover leak by snugging down the bolts. Many of them were quite loose.

Be a good idea to do swaybar bushings it only takes like 15 minutes and they are cheap. Got rid of my clunk completely

Drove it 5 miles to get to the one car wash that had self service open. I swear there’s a conspiracy going on with these car wash dealers. :spy:

First day above 32F and they close 3 out of 4 car wash self service areas trying to force you to pay for primo service with the high pressure underwash and everything else thrown in with it for $15-$18.

I've found that a carwash membership/subscription can be a huge money saver. Instead of spraying fluid film on my newer Lexus and ruining the perfect underside, we get it washed every week.

Each wash would cost $18 without the membership. The membership is $20/mo and comes with unlimited washes. And 10 cents off every gallon. We get all our gas there.

I’ve looked at that before. Unfortunately every car wash offering that service is not a touchless car wash which is what I really need.

Not much today just changed air filter . Also about a month ago I posted about my P0442 small leak code, I fixed it the next day, the issue was evap hose (circled on diagram) not tightly secured.

Changed my oil today, did a visual inspection. Noticed 3 things...

    1. Inner boots are throwing some grease, but aren't torn. Any reason for concern? There is some newer non dirty grease...
    PXL_20250126_190441465.jpg

    2. Wheel weights falling off. Took them off, cleaned everything, found my 3M tape and made an attempt to reattach. Discount tire...
    PXL_20250126_190543131.jpg

    3. The.. upper/main oil pan gasket is a little sweaty.. how's this job go for folks? This is between the No. 1 Pan and the block I think.

I don't i'd be concerned about the boots, but the flinging grease would drive me bonkers. I'd get a replacement Oetiker clamp (or something comparable) remove the existing large band clamp, clean the mating surfaces of both the CV and rubber boot really well with lacquer thinner, then install the new clamp. And FYI, i'm going on a full year with the same temporary zip tie on my CV boot that hasn't allowed even the slightest of oozing so far.

As far as I know, none of the automated washed here offer the undercarriage wash. The car wash/lube shop I worked at in college had it. We got a free "premium" wash with each pay stub, which included the undercarriage wash.

Here they now differentiate between low pressure underwash and high pressure underwash and you pay more for the high pressure one. Not just that, it’s also part of a high expensive package which includes stuff like spot free finish, car wax, scented soap and happy finger massage.

    YMMV on that last one.
