A little bit of a teaser shot. It was a few days ago when it was really foggy out late afternoon/early evening. Those are baja designs squadron SAE lights up front.

So now we all need to push @whodatschrome to do chrome delete on the rest of the truck :boink:

Yup, a roller fairlead and standard old school steel wire rope for my winch cable. A synthetic rope would just get too torn up for the kind of work that i would do with this truck.

Chrome gets me home. Besides, then i’d have to go and change my screen name to whodats.

But seriously, i don’t want too much white and black on this truck. A little bit of chrome on there will offset it just a smidge. The truck is already beginning to look like it escaped from a South African mining quarry.

I installed and wired up my baja designs squadron sport (wide cornering lens) lights on the headache rack. And if you didn’t notice them before in my previous pictures, now you know what those little trapezoid shaped tabs are for.

I did aim and test the lights out tonight. It will definitely make it way easier to back up and do other work related things when it’s dark out.

Oh, and here’s where i fitted the switch for the headache rack lights. There’s really no good spot for it. I initially wanted to wire in the headache lights to the factory cargo light, but i eventually gave up on that idea. I spent many hours google searching on how to remove the cargo light circuit from the timed auto off relay as well as removing it from the VSS.

My other idea was to simply remove the momentary cargo light switch from the board (it’s soldered in), and replace it with the latching on/off hazzard button switch. Then chase my own wires up to that switch. It would have been a slick setup, but i took the chicken route and just used a standard illuminated button switch.

Looks awesome. Here is mine for comparison. I took a much different approach of installing mine. No frame cutting all reversible back to stock.

there is no doubt your mounting setup is much stronger than mine.

keep up the good work and thanks for sharing.

You're looks fantastic as well! It kinda looks like you might have recessed the bumper closer to the grill?...and trimmed the ends of the bumper accordingly so that the tires don't make contact with them?

Correct. Tried to tuck it as close as possible. Trimmed the ends for tire clearance. Only issue is these trucks have the grill open with the hood so that becomes an issue contacting the bumper.

right now it have modified the grill to allow the hood to still open. Thinking of modifying the grill to be separate from the hood.
I will post more pictures of the bumper install modifications if they are wanted, but not trying to hyjack your build thread.

Keep us posted on the upcoming possible grill mod.
I know who to call if I need to trim my Coastal bumper for 35's now.

Don't know how your thread here dropped off my radar, so I'm here with a better late than never comment:rofl:
The inside of that frame rail looks incredible!! Did you give her any treatment for longevity before buttoning it back up? Perhaps I will see that in the next few posts.:hattip:

    YES, You did it. :bananadance:
Are you close enough to the coast you don't see much snow, or do they just never use salt?

I live about 90 minutes away from the mountains, and about 90 minutes away from the pacific coast. They also don’t salt the roads here in oregon. Rust has never been an issue where i live. I consider myself very fortunate about all of that.
