Dual USB PT976-03201 questions

Wondering if anyone’s swapped this dual usb charger out for their rear center console cig lighter outlet? PT976-03201 https://autoparts.toyota.com/products/product/usb-dual-power-ports-pt97603201
It looks like it’s for a 4 Runner and looking at the directions I found on Sparks parts here:http://toyotaparts.sparkstoyota.com/install/PT976-03201-4run.pdf
it looks like this from the back:

Locking nut to pinch it in place, and a red black wire that terminate in that plug. The cig outlets in my truck have what’s essentially a male spade connector, factory wiring is female spade. Wondering if I couldn’t just cut off the plug above and attach male spade connectors to the red/black wires to plug into the factory female side.

 

Mods can delete this thread, somehow missed the other threads discussing this has already been done when searching, my bad.
