I’m assuming GM trucks have the same issue on dry pavement. Yes?

Agree, and on the older 1s with manual locking hubs the hubs would lock up after driving on the street in 4wd. Buddy forgot to take his F150 out of 4WD when we hit the pavement. We stopped and the hubs would not turn. I think we just disengaged 4WD for drive home. Later learned to engage it and run in reverse to free hubs.

ANY four wheel drive vehicle has this issue on dry pavement. GM, Ford, Toyota, a tractor, an ATV, etc. It's an inherent aspect to how the drivetrain works. If a vehicle does NOT have this issue and is "four wheel drive" then something else is happening and it's not truly operating in four wheel drive. Center diff unlocked, all wheel drive, full time four wheel drive, other terms, will be fine but they are NOT what a Tundra has which is a classical/conventional four wheel drive/4WD/4x4 system.

I am in Florida. So I try to engage 4WD whenever road is wet by rain to lube front hub. But back to 2WD when back in parking lot.
