It was a California truck it's entire life until I moved to Arizona. Zero rust on the frame or anywhere for that matter. It was an Access Cab. If it was a Dual Cab I would have totally kept it.

Besides wanting it to be a be a dual cab, the only thing I wish it had were bigger better brakes. Had I kept it, I would have put in a big brake kit.

Went over to the camper and turned the battery heat on. Brushed off the panels.

Don't get too excited, I work 6 to 2 Monday through Friday but since tomorrow is a holiday I would have had off as a paid holiday but I volunteered to work so I'm still not really working overtime I'm just working when I would have been working anyway :p

If you ask a tire shop, absolutely. I have known people to patch them that close to the sidewall on their own and run it and perhaps luck played a part in it but they were fine.

The remote start fob feature in my truck is great, until you open the door and it turns the engine back off. What is the dipshittery :cookiemonster: going on with the Tundra Engineering staff. :annoyed::mad::facepalm::frusty:

Unfortunately that's a Toyota thing. Only within the past 6 months or so has there been a remote start developed for a push start Toyota that doesn't turn off when you open the door but otherwise besides that one product that I forget the name of, all Toyotas with push button start whether it's OEM or aftermarket turn off when you open the door or unlock it.

See, that's the problem I have. I know that tire has half its life left. The tire shop wants me to replace the tire. Now I have 3 half wore tires and 1 new tire.

My OCD won't let that fly. I have to replace all 4 even though I know the 3 tires have several years of life left in them.

I think tire dealers know this and use it to their advantage.

Me: I'm plugging the fucker. If it fails, I now know I'm getting new tires.

I bet their decision to do this involved a legal team, for some reason. To activate the remote start you use the lock button on the fob, so the truck is locked. I started the truck, I can decide when I want to turn it off, thank you very much Toyota.

    I have a similar kit.

Be aware, it can often be impossible to push a plug thru the carcasses of a LT tire.

It may sound wrong, but I'll drill the hole with a 1/4" drill bit. Then I ream the hole, then insert the plug.

When I was a contractor, I was getting punctures quite often. Id just plug, air up and off id go.

Needed to get tires. Was getting new tires installed. The tech hunted me up in the waiting room and told me one of my tires had 8 plugs. He said that was a record for him. I have no fear if plugs.

Imagine remote starting your truck from the living room just as a thief is walking by. A quick smashed window later and your truck would belong to someone else. Might not concern you, but it definitely concerns Toyota.
