So, this morning, I had to run some errands, for about an hr, and no time to charge my phone (at 18% when I took off), so I grabbed my home 120v charger plug, and popped it in the outlet in the center console back seat, and ran the cable up to the front. I know from history, that the wireless charger, even when working great, barely keeps up with the discharge from android auto and all the stuff going on the phone. So, I hit the switch for AC power outlet (it turns off on each start - so you have to hit the button again) and using this charger, it was 94% charged when I got home about an hr later. If I'd used the wireless, it might be at 19... maybe, if I was lucky at that point. (the charger I use normally, came with my samsung and is a fast charging charger) So, probably 3.5-5Amps vs the 1-1.5A I think wireless chargers do.

I've found that the USB connection charges my phone reasonably fast.

The built-in wireless charger cradle is pretty much worthless

I charge my phone on wireless at night, but use a cord in the truck (no wireless charger there). My phone takes about three times as long to charge wirelessly compared to plugging it in, especially in the 20-80% charge range. As long as you aren’t using a 5 watt wall wart, your phone will charge at 2.1 amps (or more depending on your phone model). The wireless ones will push 1 amp MAX in reality but I find that if you have a phone case like 99.9% of normal people, it’s closer to .5 amps.
