Sorry, I'm not sure I'm understanding what this means at all...

I think my point to saying what I said was that if we're going w/the NSFW theme, it shouldn't be isolated to a single person's interpretation of what that means or a single person's individual work policy that dictates what is and isn't SFW....

 

My Dad still has our 1969 set of encyclopedias.
He has turned into quite the hoarder...
He has countless issues of Readers Digest and Popular Mechanics magazines.

I recently told me he has every old oil filter from every oil change of his 2010 Sienna.
I asked him why and his response was 'I might get them analyzed one day'.
I told him 'you're never going to do that', my mom just rolls her eyes.

When my Dad passes we (2 sisters and I) will need an industrial-sized dumpster to clean the house and attic out.
Not sure what I'll do with all the hazardous crap he may have in the house..

One of my preferred down times is buying paper and eating breakfast or lunch at my local dinner by myself..
I'll scan the front pages of each section and glance at the editorial letters.
But the main reason I buy it is to do the Commuter crossword puzzle.
I'm pretty much paying $5 for daily paper just to do a crossword that takes about 20 minutes or less.
But I do enjoy it...

My parents finally tossed their encyclopedias, old magazines and Reader's Digests, along with some weird stuff they had like geography software (this was before Google maps, of course). I think they still have a globe and atlas, though.

We get a free local weekly paper. It's worth what we pay for it. Most of the time it's obvious the stories that are actually local and not just copied from Post Media haven't even been reread, let alone edited. One lady, Lindsay, likes to change thoughts and tenses in the middle of a sentence.

The crossword used to be really bad. They changed to a different one around the time my wife told me I do too many crossword puzzles so now I generally throw the paper right in the recycle without reading it.

0 here. I actually still have an encyclopedic dictionary in a rubbermade container somewhere from when I was a kid. I loved encyclopedias in general as a kid as it was the place to go to for knowledge on a myriad of topics. The internet has obviously replaced them these days. I wonder what happened to all of those old encyclopedias. They probably got tossed and are sitting in landfills rotting away.

There is a whole generation of young adults out there now who haven't had to crack open an encyclopedia for a school report.

The passage of time is something else. You don't always perceive it until some random thought crosses your mind and you realize how much the world has changed.

 

The shit we used to do back in the 80's and 90's while in the office would seriously get us fired today.
