Happened to me with my 2000 1st gen w/4.6L, and recently with my 2007 2nd gen w/4.7L.
Symptoms: Odd dash lights at start, or suddenly when running, then truck goes into Limp mode.
Your truck needs batt connectors replaced/upgraded...all corroded cables replaced, and clean/clean/clean & tight connections. Then the corrosion spray...we used a liberal dawb of grease way back when. I was shocked 1st time I checked my batt...expected "truckier" cables rather than small sedan connectors. Hope this helps others..
