    Hi all,

Name is Jason from Cincinnati, thanks for the join, just purchased a used 2023 Sequoia Capstone with 16K miles on it like 5 days ago. Totally clean carfax and looks and rides like it is MINT.

Took it to Toyota to get the seat belt repaired, and to figure out why remote start is not working from the fob or the app.

After sitting in the waiting room for an hour the service tech comes out and tells me there are notes in the system that say "Customer came in saying vehicle was stolen, and they had to replace a bunch of stuff", but looking at the carfax and checking with the DMV there is no report if it being stolen. The service tech said not sure we will be able to warranty the vehicle with this information about it being stolen??

Gave me a rental car and still working on it. Am I mad or can they do that?

    TIA
    Jason

Welcome from LA (Lower Alabama)! They cannot do that legally unless there is some evidence that the vehicle was actually stolen.
