Been wanting for an older Tundra for sometime now to go with my 2023 4Runner. I really needed a truck that I could throw straw , top soil , manure, etc in with out having my OCD kick in and drive me nuts. (Nothing worse than a 4Runner filled w/ loose straw.) Anyway…. Now that Toyota has succumbed to EPA requirements causing all sorts of issues in their trucking division getting an older Tundra became very important. I had my eye on this particular Tundra for over a year and with its pedigree I was willing to spend a lil extra in getting it. Purchased for $6000 and have already put an additional $3000-4000 into it. Where else can you get such a solid truck for $10K. Truck has 174,000 miles on it and has zero rust. Engine pers like a kitten and all I could find was minuscule amount of oil on right side valve cover gasket area. My $3000-4000 immediate preventative maintenance items were: new K02 white letter tires, new Toyota SSL antifreeze, Mobil1 oil change w/ genuine Toyota filter, new AISIN timing belt kit w/ water pump, from Rock Auto, new Denso Radiator, new LBJ (not sure if he is going to install Moog or Toyota but he knows I prefer factory vs Moog, new battery, new tail gate latch, headlight restoration kit and I’m having the o2 sensors deleted so they won’t be triggering the CEL anymore. I think that’s it. I can’t wait to get it back from the shop but thought I’d go ahead and post for now.*** Update***At you guy’s behest, I verified that the Lower Ball Joints will be Toyota OEM not Moog. Thanks for the input.IMG_2055.jpg

Welcome to the Forum, we want to see you start off in a good position. Don't let him install moog or you'll be having the job done again in the next 5-10k.

What's the plan here? This isn't a common thing around here. Usually just replace sensors and move on.

If ends up needing the secondary air pump and O2 sensors he said he could delete the O2 sensors altogether - I think via a dummy load to make the computer think the sensors are fine. Here in Oklahoma we have no inspections and aren’t real big on saving our environment. In fact, if the price is right you can come inject your waste water from fracking and cause millions of dollars worth of earthquake damage.
