    Hi everyone,

I’m hoping to get some advice on an issue with my 2022 Toyota Tundra. I’ve got multiple warning lights on the dash related to RCTA (Rear Cross Traffic Alert) and BSM (Blind Spot Monitoring). Using a Carista OBDII dongle, I pulled the error code C1AC100.

    Here’s some background:

•My Tundra has about 40K miles.

•I dinged the rear bumper while off-roading (dealer use this as an argument to say it’s not covered under warranty).

•The warnings appeared after a day of 4x4 driving but didn’t show up until I was driving on the highway in heavy rain and lightning back in late August (2024). The lights have been on ever since.

•Whenever I try to clear the code using Carista App, it comes back immediately.

    Questions:

1.From my research, it seems like this error relates to the Rear Side Radar Sensor on the Passenger Side. Can anyone confirm?

2.Is the sensor mounted directly in the bumper? If so, does anyone have a picture showing the exact location?

3.Has anyone here self-diagnosed and fixed issues with these sensors?

    4. Is the sensor easily accessible or do I need to remove the rear bumper?

I’d like to check for loose connections or visible damage myself before paying the dealer for a diagnosis. Any tips or guidance would be greatly appreciated!

    Thanks in advance!

C1AC100 is a code for the Rear Side Radar Sensor (Module "B") Beam Axis Misalignment (Horizontal). The right rear blind spot radar sensor is out of alignment.

I’d check if the sensor pop out of the mounting bracket or the bracket itself is broken. The damage tends to be the sensor tabs broken when hit.

Here is where the sensor is located. Pic shows left side but same on right side
