Hello All, I have always wanted a Gen 1 and here is my new acquisition. I have not gotten it running yet. Prev owner said mice got into it and they narrowed it down to a bad wire or ground 'up in the ignition area'. ...I've gotten into it a bit and sure enough, if I take the wire that goes directly to the starter solenoid and touch it to battery, the truck turns over. And when I turn the key, the dash gauges light up and turned all the way to start position, the starting relay down near my left leg is clicking but I'm still in a 'no start' situation. And we can't get the ECU to talk to the scan tool at all... ....Y'all have a great site here it seems and I'm excited to start learning from past posts and all this experience. Happy new year from VT!

She's coming along. I got it running! Bad mouse chewed wiring in the relay and fuse boxes under hood. Motor seems to run strong. Now for some road testing. I'm going to look at the usual things; lower and upper bj's, leaks, leaky shocks, driveshaft, etc. It's going to need a lot to be 'going to town' dressed up but it's a start.

Got a good looking rig there. Mine had the white chalky paint. Good news, no clear coat. Just scrub and buff to a brite new shine.
