I have a 2012 4.6L Tundra, 260,xxx miles. Bought it in 2016 with 154,xxx miles and thought it was bulletproof! Never leaked a drop…until now. Noticed drops on the driveway and see it leaking just behind the oil pan where the engine meets the trans. Is this classified as the “rear main seal”? Any idea on repair costs/effectiveness of a repair?

Is it pinkish in color? Can it be ATF?

Thought that at first, but it’s definitely oil.

looks like a pretty slow leak. Id just keep an eye on your oil level and drive it till it becomes a problem. To be fair, a rear main leak on a truck with a quarter million miles doesn't mean its not bulletproof. Who knows, could be another quarter mil miles before it gets bad.

I have the exact some leak on my 2011 5.7. I notice a drop or two on the driveway every couple of days. I check my oil level every week to every two weeks, and I haven't noticed any changes.

Cam towers and valve covers are suspect. Start at the top of the engine and work your way down to where you see oil first.
