You would need to get Toyota to admit to the issue. Then the flood gates would open.

It is pretty clear that the tires lean out at the top causing rapid wear to the outside treads. I am going to get mine checked again so I don’t kill my new tires.

Just had all four replaced and full alignment completed. I had three prior alignments completed in 10 months. Documented everyone with alignment spec sheets and caliper measurements of the tires measuring excessive outside tread wear. The issue was the front-tire rotated with each alignment so the excessive wear impacted all four. Open a case with Toyota-directed to dealership and with this visit received notice Toyota will replace all four tires. Note took 10 months over 9000 miles.

But from what I am understanding from everything I'm finding online is toyotas factory specs are off causing this issue. So having any shop that does it to the book specs will still be off. You almost have to have someone free hand it or go off of spec sheet right? Somebody correct me if I'm wrong please. If toyota sticks to their claims that alignments are in spec.. tire manufacturers say its the alignments tearing up every brand of tire.. then what do we do?

So they got you 4 new tires? How did they solve the alignment issue if their *in spec standard* is off? Is there a new spec?

Top of tire still is poking out after alignment.. I hope toyota will help me with my tires that are worn down now.

Driver Rear 13580.HEIC.jpg Serviced at Toyota dealer at 5k and 10k. I paid for 5K, they paid under Toyota Care at 10k. At 5k, paperwork says they "checked alignment". At 10k, I mentioned to the service advisor I suspected a tread wear problem and wanted them to take a look and note it for the record. Because I rotate regularly, the issue exists on both front and back, but I suspect it's only an issue of front alignment. Now back at the dealer today at 13k because after a long road trip, it's even more noticeable. I know they typically only cover alignment for 12k/1yr, but I'm not backing down. Dealer says they'll align vehicle but can't help with tires. Called Toyota and registered a complaint and got a case # today. They said the dealer has a Customer Relations Manager that works for Toyota who will take a look and call me back. Don't want to get to 20k and have to buy new tires. GRRRR

Just got back from the dealer with this same issue. Dealer says this is normal wear and tear and he only gets around 15,000 miles out of his tires so I'm lucky at 18,000 miles. Offered to sell me 4 new tires for $1400. Got an alignment done around 14,000 miles.

Looks familiar, same dealer talk also. They are more than happy to sell us a new set of tires. Not gonna happen, I will buy them elsewhere due to your shady dealings.

Where did this "new spec" come from and how do you get Dealer to find it/agree to get tires replaced?

I had toyota buy me a new set of tires at 14k miles after I complained about tire wear. Then I took to another shop and had them try to replicate the alignment specs that Wescott used.

Went in for 2nd remote today, and had them due an alignment due to the posts. Here is the alignment sheet they produced after the alignment.
Anyone want to tell me how bad or good that was?

This doesn’t seem right. How can the camber be basically zero degrees but you can clearly see that there is a positive angle.

The way the tires are wearing out doesn’t suggest a problem with the toe setting.

Any thoughts other than repeating the alignment every month and still watching your tires burn out?

Not sure, it’s hard to judge on these crappy stock tires. I have been monitoring closely and am feeling better about the alignment than I ever have, so am going to get real tires in the next week or 2. I want to be confident they are wearing properly before I go drop a bunch of coin. I have been measuring wear with a tool as well as visuals and they seem to be wearing evenly for the last 2 months.

Here's my alignment from last week. Regular Oem Tundra tires, non trd are not wearing evenly and sides of the tire are clearly more worn than the rest of the tire.

Service advisor said they only cover alignment up to 1 year... So I had to pay for it.

They couldn't adjust right front tire because of the catalityc converter shield so I'm bringing it back next week. Truck still drifts to the right slightly...

Just under 5,000 miles. Got my oil changed and decided to have them check my alignment (MPGs seems much lower than on the Plat I had before). My caster seems a bit whacked, AND unchanged from the dealer. I've watched videos but honestly still not sure if this is positive or negative caster AND what effects it will have on my tires and drivability since it is still not in spec. thoughts?

Just posting this today for info purposes. this seems to be the latest alignment spec from Toyota. My Capstone was aligned again today to this spec. it has successfully "feathered" the outside of the tires rotated at 5000 and today at 10000. I have not driven it but a few town miles so I don't know how it will handle.

I drove the truck several miles today at highway speed. Steering seems fine, but it seemed fine on the earlier alignment. Back tires now on the front have lost most of the feathering, so now we will see in about a few more thousand miles.

My July 24 built limited off-road was wearing pretty evenly with good alignment. But I just installed a set of pro shocks off a 1794 LE and took the truck to a trusted alignment shop. How do these numbers look to the experts here?

should they use the TRD Pro specs since I’m using the same shocks or are the other geometrical differences (I.e. wider stance, upgraded UCAs) the main driver of different specs?
