    Hello to all,

My 2024 recently purchased tundra TRD has about 2,200 miles.

About 2 weeks ago, i was being picked up by my wife at a Surgical Ctr. As she pulled up, i was in a wheel chair and noticed that some rubber was hanging out of the passenger front door towards the end of the door. When the Hosp personnel opened the passenger door, the lower piece of trim was coming off.

Now, I've had only one person in the front passenger door since we purchased it 3 mo's ago. I have done absolutely nothing to that side of the door. Pls see pics

i called my dealer to see if they could also fix this along w the defective squealing brakes that are under recall. They told me that Totoya Corp would determine if it was under warranty or not? WTX? Questions:

-has anyone else had an issue w this trim (or any door(s)?

-does anyone know what could have caused this? Or, does anyone have a question that would require me to take add'l pics or Ck anything else?

Thank you in advance for your help & feedback.

Here is the only possible cause i can think of for this trim to come off. About 3 weeks ago, we had a pretty good rain and there were lg puddles of water by the street curbs. If i hit one of those puddles that rooster tails the water from the truck, could that have caused it? However, my speed was rt at or near 25MPH? If that caused it, i cannot fathom it would not be under warranty.

    Thoughts?

Poorly installed clip? Doesn't look like there are any signs of surrounding damage. A nice dealership might replace it for free since it effectively just fell off.

Idk, lol. That may be the problem. Without more context...I would think that "pin" looking black piece on the back of the trim should fit and click/snap into the hole in the rocker panel. Not sure if there's a piece of the puzzle missing, like it fell off. My thought was if it was not installed/assembled properly, like it wasn't snapped in all the way, it could quite possible be knocked free by a rush of water.

Is it possible that that one person got caught on it somehow and pulled it off? That might be what the dealer will ask. The clip looks to be separate from the trim if it's the piece it looks like in the diagram below. Part# 67867125150. Maybe a salesman did it. Dealer detail guy is certainly a prime suspect. I guess you just go there and see what they say if you think it's worth the time. If they are going to charge you I'll bet you could get that clip and put it in yourself very easily and save a hundred plus. Or, as the other guy said, they are nice and do it for free.
