i'm installing an icon stage 2 lift which gives 3" lift for the front and 1.5" for the rear. i'm also installing the firestone airbags, and i thought i read somewhere when i was researching airbags that there needs to be 5" of clearance between the side of the tire and frame for the airbags so they don't rub on the tire sidewall. Of course i can't find where i read that now... if this is the case, has anyone installed the firestone bags and put bigger tires on? wondering what the max size tire would be and still have clearance. of course wheel offset will affect all of this, i am planning on 295/65/20 tires. or am i just mistaken and my mind went into information overload on one of my late night google searches

I have the airlift 5000 ultimate with cradles and 37x12.5 wildpeaks on +18 offset rims. No issues with clearance on this setup. Can't speak on the Firestone bags, but my setup works great20241105_112311.jpg

Considering where the bags sit under the frame, I think you’d be hard pressed to get the rear tires to rub on them without hitting the frame first. I understand there needs to be some clearance for mud and debris, but I don’t recall ever hearing of somebody destroying an airbag on these trucks because they didn’t have enough clearance on the back tires. I could be wrong, but I think you should be just fine.
