I found a guy locally selling Cooper atp2 tires. He’s selling 5 of them for $750 total - says they have 6k miles on the and 13/32 tread depth down from 16/32.

This is about $800 less than I would pay for a new set of 5.

Tires look fine in the ad. Would you guys do it?

    Alot of them
I usually don't buy used. See if he will let you pay half so that you can mount them and see if they balance fine and then pay the rest if you are happy with them.

Never have and probably never will. Most tires or wheels I see used are still priced at a point where I would want to purchase new instead.

Now for the right deal and a great price in condition I would be happy with....yes. But I don't see those deals.

And in those cases where the deal seems amazing....dont send money before you have items in hand ;)

Check the date code on the sidewall. Verify the tread depth yourself. Check for plugs and patches. See if he has the purchase receipt. It often has the mileage on the truck when they were purchased. You can check that against the miles on the guys truck. If you’re satisfied with all that, and you need the deal, go for it. That’s a good deal for 5 if so.

Date code is 0722 so I think they are almost 3 years old. He says he went with a bigger size and took them off after a few months and they have been sitting in his shop. It’s a great deal but I just wonder if I’ll be all stressed buying used.

    LED headlamps/fogs; interior footlamps.
3/32 used in 6K miles seems like a lot - makes me wonder if wear is even or was their an alignment issue to cause so much wear - or maybe they wear fast and if so at that rate they only have 18K more before they are down to 4/32 - hmmm.

Good point. I think I’ll pass on it unless he gives them to me for like $600.

I'm picking up a grill and bumper tomorrow and I gotta space these things out so I don't get beat up by a girl.
